Bobbins! As a 305lb powerlifter i squatted over 550lbs and had no definition on my legs at all (go figure.. only 35% BF, fairly strong legs but no visibility in the quads.. i wonder why! :) ) .. ok so i couldnt walk more than 1/4 mile without being in pain but hell i could ride 10 plates to the hole for 1 rep! now as a…

Nice Post :) .. i personally am a big eater/hard exerciser but i am a big believer in doing what you enjoy and can sustain... its so true that you need to be honest with yourself like you say. In my case it was 'you are going to eat big, so you need to exercise big' and that works for me but i know you can get equally…

Dont Deny yourself the tasty stuff in life.. just control the portions of it

Personally as a powerlifter, bodybuilder and now as someone concentrating on reducing body fat and increasing overall fitness, ive used a mix of low reps for close to max lifts and higher reps with lighter weights. Ive found the type of exercise you do is a lot more important than playing with the rep schemes, concentrate…

My runs take me around a farm, some lakes and woodland. In the farm i see.. Donkeys Sheep Big Hairy Cows Alpakas (llama type things) Goats around the lake i see a of watery type birds like Geese, ducks, Herons (very impressive to see them flow low over the lakes) and all sorts of other birds that i dont know the names of…

Ive just started running as well. Im running a 5k race in June and ive found that running 5k and aiming for a good pace (for me at least, im currently doing it in about 29mins and aiming for about 26-27 on race day) has made running 10k at a slower pace (6mph is comfortable for me) not too bad, my last cross country 10k…

1. Xbox with Kinect and Fitness Evolved 2012 2. Polar FT7 Heart rate Monitor 3. £19.99 a month membership to my local YMCA gym

Its great, another weapon in your arsenal in the war on lard :) @Arya21 the cals burnt in FE12 is quite a long way out for me according to my Polar FT7. A session of boot camp (i usually do 3 levels) will display as 100 cals or so but my HRM will read closer to 400, which for 30-40 mins of hard circuit training sounds…

Amazing, well done :)

Another vote for Kinect here, we have had the wii and a PS3 and now just have xbox with kinect. Games wise its as good as the PS3 (imo) and as far as fitness goes its sooo much better not having to hold a remote or stand on something... it also means you can hold dumbells. Dance Central 2 is also great, although it doesnt…

Hooray for women.. the world would smell a lot worse without them :)

I get that folks dont want gnarly hands so wear dainty gloves when lifting... what i dont get is why some people wear them when doing cardio! :) ... they must have read the same copy of Men's Health that recommended wearing a 8inch wide powerlifting belt when doing seated bicep curls :) Deadlifting gave me my callouses, i…

Is your sensor band nice and wet and tight enough?, if it is missing beats like you say that could be it. Mine is literally soaked when i put it on.. once you get sweating its not a problem but at first it does need a good drenching.

Squats!! ...but then thats my answer for everything :)

Dont be afraid to ask, 99.9% of folks you encounter in the gym are nice people and to be blunt... fellahs are always happy to help a young damsel in distress... makes us feel all tough and stuff :) If you really enjoy weight lifting try looking up a book called Starting Strength my Mark Rippetoe. It teaches barbell…

30 Day Shred, all 3 levels with 30 min break in between each one, 650 cals

I touch and pause at my chest out of habit, i still bench PL style (with much less arch of course :) ) which probably isnt the best for chesticle prettyness but for me its more of a compound move than just pec development anyway. Another 'left over' from my PL days is my shoulder blades are together anyway as i set up…
