Wow I am so excited over the number of responses on this one. I feel a lot better knowing it's not just me! I normally like to shop at Lane Bryant for my regular bras (just because they are big does not mean I can't have cute stuff). I like the fit, support, and variety there. Depending on the style I get from there, I…

I don't mine the long post, thanks for explaining it. I have been hitting the gym pretty hard the last couple weeks (4 days a week) and today is my rest day and I am starving all day, yet on my workout days I don't feel like eating. I wanted to make sure I was getting enough calories with exercise. I haven't done the TDEE…

Okay, still a need a little clarification. Lets see if I have this straight. My BMR is 1830 cal/day. That is what it takes for my body to function if I did nothing but lay around on the couch and do nothing but watch TV or sleep. MFP has my cal/day set at 1480 cal/day to get a weight loss of about 2 lbs per week if I did…

Thanks elstein. I have over 100lbs to loose and I am down 7lbs since June 28th when I started. I have a personal trainer at the gym who believes in strength training first and cardio second. So far so good. I have just been confused about at the top of my page where it says "net calories" because I know I need to create a…

A a respiratory therapist I just wanted to say it is awesome to see so many people who have done it! Great job! I tend to see a lot of the other side, treating people who still smoke and can't breath or are in to diagnose or stage cancer. Great job everyone!!!!

This is good advise, most medical professionals recommend a slower weight loss plan such as 1-2lbs per week. I think its great that you are down 20lbs. The only reason the people on this show were able to do this is because they were monitored by health professionals daily. Also keep in mind the yo-yo effect when you start…

Oh I have tried just about everything once, LOL. It sounds good until the low calorie days when you start craving things or get hungry. I didn't last on that plan for long.

My last weight in was this past Saturday. Just sad because I feel like I have been working really hard and was hoping for at least a pound.

love the last post!

First it was my sister's death, she was very obese and had all the typlical risk factors associated with it. Out of the three girls in my family I had always remained the "smallest" which I attributed to my more active lifestyle, even though I had steadily been gaining for the past 10 years. She died suddenly from a brain…

I don't know if they have an online version of the workbook, I would recommend just getting the book though cause you have to write in it and there are index cards in the back to cut out. So far I like it, because obviously I haven't sticked with other diet & exercise plans cause I didn't change the behavior. Some of the…

Week one wasn't bad. Although its hard to evaluate yourself honestly, to look at your thinking process when it comes to deciding to eat something. One of the projects this week was changing how I eat, AKA "being mindful of what I am putting in my mouth". It has been the thing I have struggled with the most. It makes you…

Thanks Bobby for the sites, very useful information. Thank you. My gym offers Zumba but is normally packed. I thought about trying kick boxing or the boot camp classes. Anyone ever done these?

My gym doesn't have a pool. My old gym did the the membership dues for that gym were 3x what my current gym is. They do have fitness classes, but I worry that I am "not in shape" enough for the ones I am interested in.

Is it wrong to log 5 min for climbing 104 stairs? I work in a hospital and frequently go up and down in the elevator, so part of changing my activity level I have commited to taking the stairs at least once per day to start. Its not part of my normal activity is a change and something I'm doing extra. To go from the first…

Thank you, very informative. I am currently (in addition to diet and exercise) doing a cognitive therapy program to help me re-train my brain on how to think of food. I loved your suggestions!

Thank you for your response, I have never thought of it that way. Maybe the term "addiction" isn't the right one to use, I couldn't think of a better one. It makes sense how the neurotransmitters can trigger various responses in the brain to food. Thank you!

Wow I was surprised with all the responses for this. I wasn't looking for some magic secret to weight loss... just had a hard day after stepping on the scale and saw I GAINED 4 lbs. Not going the direction I wanted. Just looking for a little motivation and I got it from everyone. Knowing that I'm not in it alone and people…
