  • Yes. If I'm craving sweets, I'll have sweets and make sure to work out and maybe have a lighter meal. But I've also cut out a lot of the bad food too. I never use real butter anymore (which is an accomplishment in the south), full fat cheese, fry anything, drink real soda, etc. I basically do eat whatever I want (ice…
  • When people get next to me on the elliptical and they stink! It always seems to happen halfway through my workout that some sweaty dude gets on the one next to me. Sometimes it smells so bad I have to move! I usually don't turn the fan towards me ever, but I had just finished running 1.5 miles on the treadmill and took a…
  • I weigh every morning before I get in the shower. I know you're not supposed to, but sometimes hoping to see a lower number on the scale is the only thing that can get me out of bed!
  • I've only been doing this since January and until about 2 weeks ago I NEVER ate back any exercise calories. I was always hungry during the day no matter what I ate. Yes, I was losing weight just fine, but the past 2 weeks have been much better. I've started eating back some of my exercise calories. Not necessarily all of…
  • I went several months without touching any form of soda at all. Then my in-laws requested that I make my pork roast recipe for dinner one night, which uses Coke. I used Coke Zero instead and had some of it left which I ended up drinking. It was much better than I remember Coke Zero being before I gave up on regular! Since…
  • I swam last week at the gym for the first time and felt AMAZING afterward! I might have been more sore then than I am after doing other cardio. I plan on making it my go-to exercise on Saturdays (the pool closes to early on weeknights for me to get there after work). I'm curious to see what others do for their swimming…
  • Once a week or so I will cheat and it usually involves vodka. I make sure to have a really good workout beforehand though, and to eat really well that day. If I'm cheating as in a big dinner at an unhealthy restaurant with friends or family, it will probably the only thing I eat that day. I really try not to do that, but…
  • Take a banana. Slice it. Freeze it for 2-3 hours (or more). Put frozen banana slices in the food processor or blender and blend until completely smooth. It tastes like banana ice cream, it's healthy, and only about 100 calories. I like to add a tbs of peanut butter or chocolate syrup sometimes too. Super delicious!
  • I don't know how it works for everyone, but I have a rule. If I'm absolutely craving something I'll eat a very small amount of it. I crave ice cream. A lot. So I'll usually let myself have a bite or 2 and put it away. I think I started this after a week or two. The first couple of weeks I was really strict and began making…
  • I started out on 1300 calories and am now down to 1200. I plan out my meals in the morning so I know exactly what I can afford to snack on during the day to keep me from getting hungry. I work 40 hrs a week and go to the gym after work about 3-4 nights a week and every Saturday. I don't have a lot of time to cook so I use…
  • Yes. He's 5'8" and when we met was about 165 lbs. He used to run a lot but did no strength training, so he was pretty scrawny. I am 5'6" and at the time was about 195. After 3 years together and getting "comfortable" I went up to about 220. He has been trying to lose weight with me this year (by working out. He still eats…
  • I eat a lot of instant oatmeal or cream of wheat. It is quick and seems to keep me more full than cereal or breakfast bars.Just make sure to check the Nutrition Info, because a lot of it is loaded with sugar. It's about all I've found that's quick and filling so far. I don't have a lot of time in the morning either.
