  • Just do your 3 days a week and let your body recover. Cardio on rest days will effect your recovery, which will hinder your strength progress. Although, if you want to burn more calories do a brisk walk for an hour on rest days. Nothing intense and you should be good.

  • You definitely need to be in a surplus to gain the muscle. I would eat more on weight lifting days and a little less on rest days, but still a surplus everyday.
