  • I love my elliptical. I can burn more calories on the elliptical in half the time on a treadmill. It is easy on my joints and it is small enough to fit into a closet when I am not using it. I actually look forward to using it, too. I work out for 15-20 minutes every morning and then 15-20 minutes in the evening. I highly…
  • I take a hot bath with Batherapy (the one that says "aches and pains") every night after my last workout. It is a liquid that you put into the bath and it makes your body feel like you are bathing in pain relieving ointment. It tingles and kind of numbs the pain. I don't know what I would do without it. You can get it at…
  • Congratulations on your success and a big thanks for sharing it here to motivate and encourage others. Kudos!
  • Tulsa here!
  • Mine is open, but I am seriously thinking about closing it. I can't have a large lunch and a small dinner without having people tell me I need to eat more dinner. Can't you have a late lunch and eat more and then have a smaller dinner before bed? If I am late for work and miss breakfast, I hear about it. Then, I feel the…
  • A few years ago I weighed 270 pounds. Last summer I weighed 228 pounds. I am currently at 210 pounds and really looking forward to weighing under 200 pounds. We can all do this!!!

  • Bumping for more quick microwave recipes :)
  • If anyone can help me, please message me. I am so frustrated :( If I need to get a HRM, I will. But, I don't want to buy something that I don't absolutely need and I know nothing about how this is going to estimate calories burned.
  • So, the heart rate monitor determines calories for any exercise? I am so confused!
  • So, how does the heart rate monitor determine calories that burned? I am very ignorant with this :(
  • Pickles have 0 calories. At least the jar in my refrigerator says so :) I have a late night snacking problem and keeping dill pickles has been the cure for late night calories. Good luck!
  • I don't have Paragard, but I have Mirena. I have no issues with it. My cycles have not been shorter or lighter, but they are way more consistent and predictable. It is nice to know that I have birth control for five years :) Good luck with it!
  • I want to be in this challenge, too. Is it too late? I am 5'5 and 212 pounds. I hope to be 180 by June. Goal weight is 150. Anyone who wants some extra support, feel free to add me :)
  • I am also 5'4" and currently weigh 213 pounds. At my heaviest in 2009, I weighed 290 pounds. This has been a long journey for me and I am committed to getting to 170 before the end of this year. I, too, would like to be 150 pounds. Feel free to add me for support. We can ALL do this!
  • Yes, I do. But, since I have been dieting, he has gained almost the same amount that I have lost. I think he has been over-indulging because I have been limiting myself. He is naturally "skinny" and very tall, so he could gain a little more and still be considered average weight with a healthy BMI.
  • I am a late night snacker. I do it out of habit even when I am not hungry. So, when I am not hungry and just want to snack, I get a whole dill pickle. It is 0 calories and does the trick. I spread out my calories during the day, too. I am also on a 1200 calorie a day diet and my day typically looks like this: Breakfast:…

  • I am at 1200 calories only because MFP gave me that many to work with every day. I am not sure how the total is calculated but it probably has to do with goals, current weight, etc. I thought I would get more calories but I am going to trust that it knows better than me! I've tried everything else and this is my last…
  • I really like the Smart Ones breakfast sandwiches. I used to love Egg McMuffins from McDonalds and the Weight Watchers version is better in my opinion. Only egg whites are used and the canadian bacon is actually turkey bacon. Also, I have always LOVED egg toast. That is, the piece of bread with the hole in the middle that…
  • I like to make things that I can warm up at work. I get less than 30 minutes for my lunch break and I have to take it at my desk without leaving my workplace. I really love to bring homemade soup. This is one of my favorite recipes for shrimp gumbo: Ingredients 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup canola oil 3 celery ribs,…
  • I have been loving pickles lately. They are 0 calories and since I like to snack late at night before bed, it is a perfect solution!
  • One of my best friends told me that if I lost weight I would be the hottest one in our group of friends. She told me while we were getting ready to go out and when we were in front of the mirror doing our hair and makeup. We have always had a very honest relationship and honestly, I took it as a very big compliment…
  • You are welcome!
  • I like to cook cabbage alone in chicken broth. I cook the entire head in two cans of chicken broth with added water and use salt and pepper to taste. I am addicted to it and my family loves it for a side dish. If I were to eat the entire head and broth myself, it only amounts to 350 calories. Pretty sweet!
  • Congrats, Ami! You are a real inspiration! Keep up the great work. You look fabulous :)
  • My goal is 50-70 pounds. I just started this week and I am ready to do the work!
  • I am looking at losing about 70 pounds, but I would be a lot happier if I could just get 50 pounds lighter. This is my first week on MyFitnessPal. So far, I love it! I am down 4.4 pounds since the holiday months!
