I drink lots of smoothies to keep up energy and keep calories down. I usually add 100 to 150 calories of frozen fruit (you'll have to measure or weight it to estimate the calories) and a scoop of protein powder (about 100 calories depending on the brand).

Natasha, you have probably done this, but just in case: Have you talked to your doctor about any medication that might be interfering with weight loss? Some meds can make it much harder. I use a lot of garlic and I do like Mrs. Dash. Chili powder and cayenne pepper is a great idea for me as I love hot and spicy things. I use a lot of salsa and find this is high in sodium. I am totally off the frozen dinners. Thanks for all the hints!!

Thanks! I'm heading to Trader Joe's tomorrow! Clearly the soup mixes have to go. If I had not eaten the two packages I ate today, I would have been under 1,500 mg.

Often when your calorie intake it too low, your metabolism slows down and this can make it harder to lose weight. Clearly this isn't happening to you now, but it could happen in the future. The exercise is likely helping. If you hit a plateau in the future on the same plan, you may actually need to start eating more.

Great plan -- better to make a conservative goal that leads to success. Missing unrealistic goals has really frustrated me in the past.

I agree with all who mention "saving" calories. I HAVE to "backload" my calories so that I have 400 or 500 left after dinner. Plenty of filling snacks left before bedtime! It's much easier to eat light earlier in the day (for me) than late at night.
