http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/get-running-with-couch-to-5k.aspx I've just finished the Couch to 5k programme a couple of weeks ago, now run 6.km 3 times a week. A fantastic way to eaze into running.

What was the name of this programme please?

As long as someone is with him all the time, I can't see why you should cancel. He knows the babysitter well, he is in no danger because he has got a responsible adult with him whom you trust. Go get yourself sorted, that is really important as well. Good luck, hope it'll be allright for you all. :flowerforyou:

Kids are like that, aren't they? Will always go for the treat food before healthy stuff. My children can help themselves to the fruit basket when they are hungry, this is always filled up. If they want crisps/chocolates/biscuits they wait for Saturday, which is their treat night. And we always go to the shop on Saturday to…

Snails and slugs littering the path.. avoiding them turns a run into a real GI joe assault course through tripwires. The alternative does not bear thinking about.
-
If I don't get it done pretty much first thing in the morning, I am most likely not going to do it...
-
No, we're all old fat and grumpy!
-
Oh no.. how utterly depressing. :brokenheart:

I always get compliments about my eyes, so like them. At the moment I love my body for it's ability to grow stronger and run longer, it's giving me a real sense of achievement. :blushing: I know at some point I'll love it for more than that.

I'm taking back waking up happy!

 Sorry, can't help. My weight problem seems to be from too much food, not too little. :blushing:

Every morning when the alarm goes off at 5, I tell myself that I have the choice to go for a run or not. If I lean towards snuggling deeper down in my duvet, I 'feel' how I will feel in an hour, either going (upbeat, positive, sense of achievement) or not (dissapointed in myself, fat, grumpy). Working a charm so far.…

Thanks for sharing.

I love how the expression on your face differ so much with the before and after pics. Well done! I fit the criteria of tall and over 200, making very slow progress.

Good read, thanks.

Sjeez.. who p'd in your cornflakes this morning? Chill a bit. Feel free to ignore advice you don't like, but no need for ranting when someone was probably trying to help you.

Hi! I am 36 and overweight! I started couch to 5k a while ago, it's been stop/start for a little while but I am now enjoying every run. Very possible, fairly easy and extremely enjoyable! Just take it slow, you'll be absolutely fine. I am a big fan of the program!

I think it is common to put some weight on, actually. As far as I can gather it has to do with the process of your muscles repairing itself and you retain more water. Not sure, some guru will no doubt be able to tell us more! But certainly don't give up after a week. I think the results are undeniable, certainly one of the…

I am enjoying it a lot, though it is also stop/start with me. I'm only going into week 5 now, but hope to stick with it! Sorry to hear about your news.
-
I am re-starting next week, made a good difference last time.

Just nibbling on my first one! It is delicious. If you recommend a friend you get £1 off your next box. I'll not be able to afford it long term though, but was curious.

My heart goes out to you, it is such a horrible decision to make. Warmest thoughts sent your way. No more suffering for your best friend, though I know it won't ease your heart ache.
-
That looks like a LOT of calories, even on the low calorie days? How was your results in the extreme fat loss phase? :noway:
-
Very well said and exactly my point of view.
-
Hopefully take the extra time off to up my exercise! And off course there will be some bbq food, but not impossible to stay within limits. (She says)

Anyone?

I told my son we are now going for a short walk every evening. 'Oh no', he says 'that is going to be sooo boring.' So I walked with him to a nearby construction site. An hour later he says 'Mum, this was awesome, can we go walk every day for hours?' I suppose my point is to incorporate something he is really interested in,…

I wondered whether I should tell you that the ads underneath this thread comes up with 'odourless toilet seats'.. I've learned so much today! :noway:
-
Absolutely, I can just imagine what other people say and think! Really does not matter though, when all is said and done you are doing this for yourself, not for them! Besides, imagine what you will look like next year this time, so worth it! Good luck, carry on with your head held high! :flowerforyou:

Just keep going, it is really hard but within a couple of weeks you'll see a real improvement!
