Ice is your friend! Definitely ice like crazy, but keep moving. If you stay sedentary and fully rest, you'll just stiffen up. Get in some good walks, stretch (or do yoga), and if you're still not feeling great check out a chiropractor. There's a good chance you're just out of alignment and need a few adjustments to get you…

Yoga and eating clean have really helped me to finally lose weight. I have three herniated discs and arthritis in my lower back, and yoga has given me both the strength and flexibility I lacked previously. Plus, it's the most amazing stress releiver!

For me personally, clean eating is the ONLY way I can lose. If I eat in moderation and just have a calorie deficit, I am able to maintain somewhat decently. However, if I want the weight to actually come off, I have to be diligent eating TONS of veggies, meat, and fruit. It's really frustrating that carbs are the one thing…

Haha, yeah. I just did workout B today, and I'm pretty sure my shoulders are never going to forgive me. And those lunges!? Damn!

I'm in the same boat as you! Same BMI. Ugh. I've done this program before forever ago, but I really need to get in shape and actually dedicate myself to doing this. I have about 50 to lose... so let's see where this takes me.

Sorry! Another newbie question. Do you all follow the calorie/diet outlined in the book? Based on my CW, it recommended 2131 calories on a rest day. That seems like A LOT. I'd love to know if you all followed it and managed to lose weight. Thanks in advance! Now I just need to clean up my diet and start eating clean. SO…

I started this program yesterday (again for the second time)! The only issue I have is that the gym in my office doesn't have a weight rack. Have any of you ladies had this problem? I ended up using hand weights to do my squats since there wasn't a barbell for me to use, but I'd love to hear how you may have found ways to…

I'm on NatureThroid and it works SO much better. It better matches your natural hormone, and I've had much better results with it. I'm not at the point where I'm a bit Hyperthroid, which has NEVER happened before. With levothyroxine I kept having to increase my dose with no results.

I always bring cut up bell peppers, hummus, apples, cuties, nuts, instant oatmeal, applesauce, and Laurabars to help get me through the day. I also love Trader Joe's dried fruit bars.

I love the idea of being able to track short-term goals in addition to ultimate goals. I think having smaller goals along the way would help to keep me encourage and motivated as I work towards my bigger goals.

That's probably the thing I struggle with most. I'm fairly decent about eating the right things, but I'm awful when it comes to working out. I'm just always so exhausted (probably because my thyroid is still not at the right level) so it's really hard to convince myself to work out.
-
We're already friends, but I too would love to meet other people who are going through the same thing. I currently use herbs and supplements because traditional thyroid meds and Metformin were not working for me after 10 years on them. I feel much better off the Metformin and taking NatureThroid, but the weight is still so…

I'd recommend slowing down your speed. You can always work on increasing your pace after you're able to run the whole thing.

Definitely on the low end! I usually wear my HRM, and I burn a TON more calories than the game says :)

I have PCOS and hypothyroid (hashimotos) so losing weight is such a challenge! I'm finally down 19 lbs, but it's taken a year to get there. I'm just happy to be moving in the right direction. Feel free to add me as well! I would love the additional support!

Hey! I'm 5'5", started at 199 and am now down to 180. It has taken me about a year to lose these 19 lbs, but I'm finally heading in the right direction!

The hubby and I made chocolate fondue and snuggled on the couch. Definitely a great night.

When the scale hit 199. I knew that I never wanted to see 200, and something had to change if that were ever going to be true. Since then I've kept at it and have been losing weight slowly, but I'm SOOOO close to being out of the obese category now. I'm just glad to be moving in the right direction.

I use Standard Process dairy-free protein powder. I usually mix it in with my green smoothies in the morning since it doesn't really have a flavor on its own.

Hummus with Pretzel chips Hummus with bell peppers Greek yogurt Fruit (especially blueberries)

Like others have said, yoga and mindfulness and meditation work really well for me. Good luck!

BMR: 1428 TDEE: 1997 I try to keep my calories around 1500-1600, and I usually eat back about 50% of my exercise calories.

Bump! I'm looking at starting one this spring, so I'd love to hear what others have to say as well.
