  • ok ladies! I survived! it was just as tough to keep up as I thought it would be. I felt like a jerk at several points because I just had no clue how to follow. The instructor singled me out a couple times to help and in the end I'm glad I went. i put it in MFP and I don't feel like I burned 466 calories, but i definitely…
  • Thanks so much for the tips! I know it's gonna be hard but I'm gonna try. The best tip by far is "no one is watching you" I'll need to remember that when I start getting self conscious. :)
  • I have cut out booze, I think I've had just a couple of drinks since I started MFP. I'm not sure how much of a difference it is making, but I definitely don't have the calories to waste. Just reading this made me miss beer though :(
  • all great ideas and really thinking out of the box! looks like planning ahead will be key
  • I find that planning ahead really helps me stay on budget. Stick to the same general foods so you can buy bulk in the beginning of the week and portion everything out into individual bags or containers. Good luck!
  • I stick with homemade dressing. Olive Oil, an acid, dijon mustard and onion or garlic. Whisk well with a little Salt and pepper. For my acid I use whatever compliments the salad or meal, vinegar, lemon juice, orange juice... simple and delish
  • I'm not familiar with this program, but it sounds like it would work for my apartment based workouts. Can anyone explain to a newbie?
  • I'm a yoga junky. I definitely feel like it connects me with my body. I leave class feeling more flexible, more aware of my strength and feeling totally empowered. It's one of the few exercises that every time I do it I feel like I've improved. If you're just starting out I suggest you try a few different kinds. Vinyasa…
  • I really like it! I know it's gotten mixed reviews but I like my margaritas on the rocks, so I just pour it over a big glass of ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
  • amen to that!
  • lol... all great tips. club soda here I come!
  • Welcome! i'm just a couple of days in but feel really embraced by the community. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. Good luck!

  • I reward myself daily, maybe that sounds a little ridiculous, but everyday is a challenge for me. If I get my workout in I get television time. An hour of whatever I want to watch. If I don't work out then I'm forced to do other things around my house like clean ... eep! It seems to be helping for me. Oh! and I never limit…
  • Brittaney, While I too share your exasperation with people who opt to not be fit and then complain about it. Please be careful how you throw around comments about pain. I do not do squats or lunges because I've had reconstructive surgery on my knee 4 times and the pain is excruciating. I work on exercises to continue to…
  • thanks for the warm welcome ladies! I love your advice and I'm hopeful it will help. I've recently gotten into running (3-5 days/week) and I'm a pretty avid yogi. I had a gym membership for years but can't seem to find one with a vibe I like and a price I can afford. my treadmill is my best resort right now so I'm going to…
