Insanity: Asylum Vertical Plyo. Tomorrow is the much-needed relief.

This is something that really bothers me about BB Coaches, and I am one myself. I'm also an ISSA/ACE/AFAA instructor that's lost over 100lbs. But the people that just try and push products, well, it gives the company a bad image as well as those in the company that are in it to help.I started with Beachbody because it's…

It definitely depends on your body type. When I was lifting heavy and building muscle I was at 55% carbs, 10% fat, and 45% protein. I shed a good amount off my fat % and gained almost 10lbs of muscle in 3 months.

Congrats on your loss, but that crap put me in the hospital with heart palpitations. No way I'd ever touch that stuff or recommend it to my clients. Just look at the nutrition label. Losing a few pounds isn't worth putting it in your body.

I have both. I like the one better for some things and the Flex better for others. To me, having the One in my pocket meant I'd forget about it and was way more inclined to cheat. My normal weekly wardrobe is business casual, so clipping it to my pants wasn't an option. Either an exec would make me remove it, or it would…

Been using it regularly for over three years and still working great. I've gone a few months here or there without using it and eating clean, keeping my results. For me it's more convenient then taking several vitamins, plus a protein shake, then making breakfast.

Haven't been to a gym in three years and I'm in the best shape of my life.

Yep! I've helped train a few ladies. I was blown away by a women that I met in LA that had 7 babies and rock hard 6-pack. It's hard work and you have to absolutely want it.

It's always different for everyone. For the past three months I've been eating about 2800 cals a day and lifting heavy 6 days a week. I've gained 6lbs of muscle and lost 2% body fat. So am I heavier? yes. But my pants are looser, shirts are tighter, and I feel way better. The scale is not the best way to judge success. :)

I've been told I'm smart :)

I got a small armband and used it on my forearm. Much more convenient than on the upper arm. I forget the brand but any running store would carry it. Did a half marathon that way and it worked great.

Being an Aerospace Engineer I know the harsh fact is airline travel is all about weight. That's the unfortunate truth. The heavier the plane the more fuel and the longer the trip.
-
Your macro nutrients are out of whack. I'll shoot you a message since MFP won't ever let me know if you reply here lol

Find heavy things. I've seen people use their couch/chairs, bricks, etc. Having a full set of weights is ideal and much safer, but you can start now and work your way up to it. It's taken me about three years to get my setup where I like it. That's a bench, pull up bar, curl bar, two sets of adjustable weights, and plates.…

I started going because it was cheap, but after about a year I realized it was always slammed because it was cheap. So I took what I would spend going there a year (not just Membership, but renewal, gas, and time to drive to and from) and figured out it was easier and cheaper to pick up Insanity and workout from home.…

CLX (ChaLEAN) is a great beginning strength program. Don't get fooled because Chalene is a cardio junkie. You'll be lifting at least 3 days a week and working basic routines. Squats, lunges, curls, presses, it's all there. There are two cardio workouts that are really good, too.
-
I've done ChaLEAN Twice. LOVED IT! I prefer her over JM anyday. She's supportive and firm but not angry lol

I got married last December so it's still pretty fresh in my mind. I'll shoot you a message :)

This is one of those things that I believe you can't skimp on. I spent years running New Balance from the store and ended up messing my feet up. It wasn't until I went and got fitted that I realized I was wearing completely the wrong size and shoe. Now I'm in Inov-8's and LOVE them. They've around $100 but since they don't…

Sam Adams IPA seems the lowest at 175 cals. Unfortunately, IPA's are just one of those beers that are going to be high in calories.
-
I've done the Warrior Dash twice, both in Vibrams. They hold up real well, don't come off, and after a run through the washing machine look brand new.
-
I did this last year and fell in love. My wife is doing Combat right now. No idea on the cals. Sorry. I just log it as a vigorous weight routine and figure I burn anywhere from 300-600 depending on the workout.
-
Insanity may be tough, but I've worked with people over 250lbs through P90X. It's all about modification.
-
Good luck all! I've done this program twice and loved it. I was a Finalist in Beachbody's Million Dollar Body game two years ago thanks to this one.

CARBS!

One thing to remember is that a lot of the frozen/cheap food isn't actually "Food". It's lab-created material with some food additives thrown in.
-
Unfortunately, it's like comparing apples and oranges. If you don't like weights, you won't like P90X. If you don't like Plyometrics, you won't like Insanity.

I've been using mine for a few weeks, doing cardio, running, and weight lifting. Feel free to add me. Just let me know you're from MFP :) http://www.fitbit.com/user/23LQDS

Great job! I wish more people were that dedicated. Kids are probably the number 3 excuse for not working out that I get from clients

Not sure how well you can see my profile pic. Feel free to shoot me a friend request.
