  • I'm pretty close to your situation (look at my numbers). I was stuck on a plateau for about 6 weeks for what seems to be no good reason whatever. Looks like I've fallen off the edge of the plateau now *crosses fingers*. Feel free to add me as a friend if you like
  • Deodorant? Why not try Baby Powder? No additives you wouldn't put on your baby, either.
  • I compared wrist sizes with a woman I know who's exactly the same height as me. My wrist was half again as large as hers, so I don't think I could have a small frame  I'm guessing at 5'6" and 6.5" around the wrist that I'm medium-large frame. I'm looking at 145 for now and reassess once I get there. Last time I…
  • what an awesome mid-goal... hooker heels
  • All the single ladies.. all the single ladies!
  • Are we talking loose skin or just fat and small muscles? Bigger muscles would make it look better, but how do you shrink the skin, other than letting time take care of it? I've seen surgery take care of it but those scars are just gross.
  • That gastroenterologist might not realize that intestinal cramps and uterine cramps don't feel at all the same. They aren't the same thing. One has to do with what you ate and the other has to do with muscle spasms in something that REALLY isn't your intestines. Seriously. You can probably guess what I'm thinking about…
  • My thought: Diet and exercising journalling is something I will do for the rest of my life. It's too easy to slip into bad habits otherwise. I don't think that's hard or a drag. It's a commitment. Kudos to you for understanding!
  • There will come a point when your navel-gazer looks at you in absolute wonder and won't have a clue how you did what you did. What we're doing (the weight loss thing) is beyond most people's ability to even imagine. Just wait when 13 pounds turns into 30 and you start getting compliments everywhere you go. Last night I…
  • They helped me figure out portion control, which is really helpful, but you can do better by cooking yourself. I adore my crock pot. I eat better than any tray now, but I admit there are still 3 or 4 in the back of my freezer. Edit: One other thing... I am very mold sensitive. I can smell and taste it where other people…
  • Even Kraft (!) has a no salt no sugar peanut butter. I've had that and it's just fine, but not, imho as good as the nuts themselves *crunch crunch crunch*.. texture's very important since I'm eating so much less now :)
  • I eat mainly veggies during the day (work means packing lunch) and when I come home, a salad and some meatish thing. I found a fabulous series of yogurt dressings (Bolthouse) that are made with non-fat yogurt and taste creamy. That leaves me, after exercise, with about 300 cals to play with after dinner. I eat 100 cal…
  • I'm getting to the point where I'm just not going to open Jillian Michaels threads on the boards, so please, if you want to post something about her, just put her name in the title. I don't have an opinion about her other than she's marketing to an audience and she's making money on your hard work. That automatically makes…
  • Same here... 70 pounds down and even tho I'm hella good and not cheating AND eating in proper proportions AND exercising AND eating my exercise calories... I'm stuck too. I hope the stuck goes away. Soon.

  • Sounds like my problems with gallbladder too. Initially it's dull pain but really uncomfortable. If you leave it too long, you could wind up with pancreatitis and you could lose your pancreas! The gall bladder you can do without. Loss of your pancreas means insulin shots for the rest of your life. Totally not worth waiting…
  • Under, but my family doesn't celebrate football :)
  • I'm seeing everyone around me losing weight, not gaining it. And two of them... 125 lbs... which is so much more than what I've lost (about 70 lbs now). Is it that there are so many more obese people? Is it that willpower's viral? I have no idea. What's interesting is that the ones who say they could stand to lose some...…
  • I am finding that at 1 lb per week loss, there's lots of up and down but the down is never fast enough. Am I plateaued atm? Maybe, but it's so hard to tell. If I look at where I was a month ago, I'm down about 4.5 pounds since then, but it feels like the scale hasn't moved in FOREVER. I have to keep looking at that Reports…
  • hmmmmm Diet-tainment. We're as processed as Kraft Dinner in this... children of the television age who don't ask enough questions because the information's just handed to us. I agree.. look it up, make inquiries, question the answers. We can't all have medical degrees (mine are Philosophy (Logic) and Law) but we can…
  • Byebye Irish Setter! (and a Guinea Pig!)
  • So my burning question is.... where do you go to be hydrostatically assessed? I have one of those stupid home scales that tries to do this, and the percentages change half-hourly. It's pretty sad, really.
  • Well... when I first get up and weigh myself I weigh a half-pound more than half an hour later, having done nothing exciting in between. This is a pretty consistent thing and I certainly don't understand it. I'm leaning toward my scale having a multiple personality disorder, and the first one gets off on making me…
  • http://www.scotweb.co.uk/products/kilted-skirt/ That!
  • I agree... this is the rest of your life, and mine. If I eat more than I intended to on one day, I can make it up the next day or within the week, by less food or more exercise. It's my option and my responsibility, for the rest of my life, no complaints. That's perfectly fine. There are two things that vaguely annoy me…
  • To those sushi lovers.... ME TOO! But I do have the last laugh anyway. I found SASHIMI. No soy sauce (it is the devil) and no rice means you get in your HDL raising LDL lowering fish and it tastes awesome all on its own. "Brown" breads that are made with white flour and molasses for colouring. What a fake-out. Fried…
  • Wow.. I'm having a hard time staying over 1200 cal. per day. I have treats built into that... like high fibre cookies at the end of the day (93 cal/2 cookies) and no fat frozen yogurt (100 cal/ 1/2 c.) but most refined white starches are kept to a minimum, and it looks to me that this is where the most calories are,…
  • I quit cold turkey and I just had my 25 year anniversary of quitting. Smoking was a huge mistake in my life, started on a dare and hooking me for 8 years. When I quit, I had three weeks of really anxious/irritated feelings (a lot like PMS, but a little worse), but then, it was like a switch was turned on and all of a…
  • Costco's Kirkland brand green tea is excellent. They are sealed individually in foil pouches and contain matcha, which is where a lot of the health goodness is. The Matcha is the powder. You want that in the teacup. Make sure you upend the foil pouch into your teacup or pot before you put the water in. This tea comes from…
  • There are lots of variables that can cause an apparent plateau. My understanding is that if you are in conservation (don't use starvation) mode, you retain water because your body is trying to stabilize your weight, but that this can't last forever. If you're under your maintenance calories every day, you will lose weight…
  • What a lot of hard work! The change is incredible!
