For me personally - I like to work out alone. I don't want to go to a gym and number one - share equipment and number two, when I working out, I'm a sweaty mess - i'm not at the gym to pick up a guy or anything else except to exercise. Plus, possibly a lot of women can't get away to a gym or go out for a run because of…

I count it if I'm doing stuff that's actually getting my heart rate up. Especially if your daily activity is set at sedentary.

You do understand the net calories, and you will probably eventually see results, but you'll be losing muscle instead of fat. If you want better definition, you need to lift weights and shape your body - not starve yourself to lose pounds. Talk to a nutritionist or a doctor about body fat composition because you already…

Yes -bread is delicious and carbs are a source of energy for your body. I have done the no card/low carb thing in the past only to gain any weight lost back as soon as I ate carbs again and did not exercise or watch my calorie intake. it's a bad roller coaster ride to start on. Just eat healthy, whole wheat, vegetables,…

I'd put you at 145 max, and I can't see where 30 more lbs would come from

yup...everytime. I have to really think about how i'm moving my feet and make sure I'm doing a heal to toe motion - otherwise I'm more up on the balls of my feet and they go numb...

Bottom line - you are doing this for you. People think they are helping by telling you you are fine just the way you are, etc, but in the end, it's you who has to be happy with and love yourself. My husband likes it when I'm a little heavier...bet you can't guess why, but ultimately, I like it when I'm leaner, so we're…

Pepperidge Farms and Sara Lee both have a 45 calorie per slice option. I find them both to be very good.

Interesting as I have been using artificial sweeteners to save calories...thank you all for the advice. I know this stuff in the back of my mind...thanks for the support and suggestions.

The more you weigh - the more your burn when you exercise; so you will burn more at first. At a moderate pace (in the fat burning zone) - it will probably take you approx. 50 min (say on an elliptical doing an interval program or jogging like 6.0 mph) to burn 500 calories; depending of course on your current weight. I aim…

Female 38 5'6" start weight - 167 Goal Weight - 145 About 5 months Daily calories changed as I lost - started out around 1500+ and went down to 1200 as I got closer to my goal weight - I set my activity level at sedentary. I ran my first half marathon in October - during my maintenance phase also - I would say eat it if you need to - if you are hungry - if you are prepping for a long run - you need the sustenance to maintain your energy level. You should concentrate on eating the right kinds of foods for distance running - you can find all…

Whichever you can stick with is what works best for you - I do both - treadmill is better for your joints, but you do get a different type of workout on the pavement with wind resistance, natural inclines and declines, etc. Calorie burn difference is minimal. Calorie burn is about speed and time when it comes to running.

Based on a weight that I was happy at and I felt looked good on my frame in the past.

LOVE them - yeah, your hiney will "get in shape" as well. you will be really sore the next time you sit on a bike - over time, it gets used to it though. I do recommend the biker's shorts to help.

Great advice. you know how to eat healthy - clearly - for me, if I don't bring it into the house, I won't be tempted, but if I do, my attitude is "If I eat it all now, there won't be any to tempt me tomorrow" - uh, yeah, not the best. Change takes time, give yourself a break.

I have been diagnosed as hypothyroid since I was 19 - almost 20 years ago. I take my daily dose of synthroid and get my levels checked regularly. There is a book called "Living well with Hypothyroidism" - it gives tons of information on eating right, exercise, and other general informaiton that I found very helpful. You…

In my opinion and experience the only permanent fix to weight loss is to eat healthy and move more. It is a mindset and lifestyle change. Quick fixes are just that - quick; but rarely can one maintain the results.
