  • Thanks for the advice, the midwife is going to chase up an appointment with the Dietician so fingers crossed I can get a meal plan together. I think I went a bit crazy over the weekend cutting out all bread/potato/pasta and I felt terrible! Moderation is the key
  • 30 right here!
  • I've lost 26lbs and people have started commenting, but I can never tell if it's because they KNOW I'm trying and are just being polite! I've started noticing myself that my face is changing so that's a plus, but no big change to my body as yet....it's a long road ahead... *sigh* Well done on your loss so far
  • Which milk you drink should be a preference based on personal taste and nutrition NOT on alarmist articles. As someone pointed out earlier, unless your consuming litres/lots every single day the calorie and fat values really are insignificant. Young children are encouraged to have whole milk for a host of reasons, but…
  • My motivation wavers regularly, it only takes a few days of 'rest' to turn back into a couch potato! I'm starting off my exercise again slowly. Not having very much money and also having two small kids I can't really go out to gyms or pools so it's more like walks and housework and gardening that I push myself into doing…
  • I've shared conversations with cashiers before that bordered on rude but I just think they were oblivious to the hurt they were causing and didn't mean to say the things they did, most were 'old school' and spoke their minds freely. The most prominent one I remember was at the end of a long shopping spree with my young…
  • Thankyou thankyou thankyou for posting this! I've had an implant for 3 years and just had it taken out and am expcting mine very soon. I've been doing okay up til now but have gained this week - just as I've started a challenge to lose 25lbs! I'm so relived to hear it's likely just to be water and will go after a…
  • Feel free to add me - I started Jan 2012 and have lost 20lbs so far, with atleast 80lbs to go. I'm on here most days and would love to share more support on here to keep the changes coming! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
  • I count exercise as anything I do that is not part of my normal routine. I work in an office and my setting is sedentary. If I'm given a lot of work going to and from the basement or up and down stairs visiting other floors I don't log that as exercise as it's routine for me, it just fluctuates between the days. However,…
  • Well done! I'll be celebrating too when I get there! :drinker:
  • It's so humiliating for both you and the person asking - I had that at the hairdressers, poor girl was only trying to make conversation but unfortunately for her my son was already 4 months old when she asked the dreaded question!! We both tried to laugh it off but it still stung. I also had to accompany a family member in…
  • I hope there's a space left as I'd LOVE to join this group as some extra motivation. I have a lot of weight to shift so 30lbs by June would be PERFECT! I've got weddings, big birthdays and other events GALORE coming up and it's a double-edged sword as I want to lose weight and enjoy them but I'm scared of putting weight on…
  • I have a 3-yr-old and a 4-yr-old and they've been out of buggies for some time now. We still have umbrella strollers just in case we're going on a really long walk (e.g. when we were on a day-trip abroad late last year and knew they'd get tired walking round the zoo and would want a rest). I don't go running with them or…
  • Wow, stunning photos!! Congratulations on your loss and a BIG thanks for posting - I'm starting out at a similar weight although I'm much shorter. It's encouraging to see success stories like yours, you look wonderful  Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools
  • You've lost lbs AND years!! You look fantastic and I'm betting you're feeling pretty fantastic too - thanks for posting, very inspirational, and good luck with the next leg of your weight-loss journey :flowerforyou: Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools
  • I'm a UK 22-24 and I was happiest and healthiest as a UK 14-16 (10+ years ago) so I'd LOVE to get back to that and into high street clothes again. If I EVER fit into anything with a label of 12 or smaller I think I'd break down sobbing!!  Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools
  • Like some of the others I only started 1 January 2012 with 110lbs to lose. I lost lots of weight (water) at the start then it slowed to between 1-3lbs per week. MFP recommends that I eat 1560 cals to lose 1.5lbs/week and so I've been sticking roughly to this 'net' amount whilst aiming to eat back about 50% of my exercise…
  • Thanks for posting this - I started in January at 255lbs and have over 100lbs to lose and it seems like too much to take in, so it's great to see that others can do it through consistently making simple achievable changes like swapping foods and working in more exercise. Here's hoping that this time next year I can say the…
  • I'm really not sure what to think, but recently I had a friend's big birthday meal and a family roast in the same weekend and ended up a few hundred over my daily calorie goals due to alcohol, treats and larger portions. I also didn't get in much exercise either. I was worried this would result in an increase, but instead…
  • ....you reach the top of the hill and listen to the quiet for a moment before you realise that what you aren't hearing is you wheezing and gasping for breath!
  • MOTIVATOR: Health scare and being TOTALLY ASHAMED going into hospital. I always thought of myself as 'the big girl' but had to take a serious step back and look at my life when I got Reactive Arthritis. I couldn't move without help, and when I got to hospital, they put me in a room with a WINCH in case I couldn't…
  • Thank you all so much! I'll get there eventually. It's nice to hear some good advice as I was afraid I'd just be told to hammer it out at the gym everyday or run til I drop and I'm just not at that level yet......but I will be someday soon! baby steps...
  • You look incredible! well done :flowerforyou: I'm looking to lose the same amount and so it's great to see someone who's done it - very motivating, thank you
  • Absolutely astounding success!! and all in under a year?! WOW! you look HOT! What exercises did you do? Any advice for those just starting out?
  • Is it good to snack on raw nuts? and if so, which ones? they're all so full of fat....
  • Okay, kids are NOT an excuse for being overweight BUT they can pose a very large puzzle to figure out when trying to balance exercise and family time . When I first started trying to lose my 'baby fat' I had a 3 month old, a 15 month old and worked full-time to make ends meet (and not as a career). I could not (and still…
  • I recently had the same problem and was told to mix it up for a few days and confuse your body into thinking you are no longer trying to lose weight - up your calories slightly by around 200cals for a few days and then reduce them back, whilst at the same time trying a different exercise like swimming or an aerobics dvd…
  • I'm trying to lose 30lbs for July and have just started the 30 Day Shread (Day 3 of Level 1) as I have heard great things from other MFP users - it's TOUGH and I'm struggling through the cardio sections (I don't think it was aimed at obese women as all that jumping with 100lbs+ overweight is a killer!) but I'm hoping it'll…
