This is great! Thank you.

Absolutely. I feel the same way.

Commuting on a bike is GREAT! Although my work is close, twice a week I do a 10 mile round trip for a second job. It would probably be a good idea to get a heart monitor to check that your MFP calorie log is actually correct (mine was vastly different once I put on the monitor). Even though you think commuting isn't…

Yes, he should. I go prepared with cash anyway (because I don't know him & don't know what kind of man he is), but I never bring out my wallet unless absolutely necessary (like secretly tipping a waitress after a bad date).

Trader Joe's has these. They are SO addictive (I really have to watch myself).

Wow! I so excited for you and proud of you! This is such an achievement and I look forward to your future successes. By the way, I hope you know how beautiful you are. :-)

Ouch. I'm sorry

My favorite "worst date" was when a man asked me to dinner and a very nice restaurant (got all dressed up), we got there, sat down, and his first statement was "go ahead and order anything, I'm not hungry." Begrudgingly, I gave him a (what was very uncomfortable) second date. Oh! Because we barely ordered anything, I…

Depending on how sick I am, I usually TRY and exercise that day. Though it is exhausting, the physical activity helps to kick things in gear and your body tries to make itself better faster (broke some fevers doing that).

I agree. The morning is the time to do it (between bathroom & shower). It's just a more accurate read-out than the water and food changes from the entire day.

salt water taffy is also a lovely addition (20 cal/piece). I agree that it is a lifestyle change. You don't have to give it up completely, just have to learn to have things in moderation. I'm still learning that, but it's making a difference.

Alrhough you & I are different body types & have different health goals, I would consider supping your caloriess to avoid losing more weight. If you remain this active, take in more food.

I think it comes with perception. If you've been overweight a while, then the image people have in their heads is the larger you. Once you've gotten significantly smaller than you were, it the minds-eye it's SO much smaller than it may actually be as so feels like you are just disappearing. It's all a matter of perception.…

Ya! I've changed a few habits (trying to pull out a lot of processed foods), but I still like to eat normal things, just learning not to overdo it.
-
You can do this! 99% of the time no one else around you cares, it's just our own inner-voices that discourage us. It doesn't matter what those other people on the streets think, although, my guess is that they are thinking "way to go!"

Being financially secure is not the same as feeling secure in ones own ability and intelligence. They should not be defined by their financial status, just as we should not be defined by our weight or physical attributes. I didn't realize she never got her high school diploma, but I'm glad that she's choosing to earn it…

If your friend is getting such negative feedback from this person in their MFP team, maybe it's time to "unfriend" that negative person. Sometimes it's necessary.

270 at age 23 (2009). I didn't realize I had been that heavy until a recent doctors visit when we were having a conversation about my weight.
-
I'm pretty sure they do. I remember a season or two ago where Jillian was up in arms over one of the contestants who was not eating the excess calories back (for him, it was slowing down his metabolism and weight loss).

This is AMAZING! I laughed SOOOOOO hard! I have no advice other than what everyone else said. Thank you for the great story, you made my day. :-)

HA HA HA HA! AMAZING!

What about the ones that are in 'watch' form? Isn't that considered a "strap" instead of using a chest strap thing (that's just more cumbersome than I want).

I'm a Tae Bo fan! It's great fun, and love Billy Blanks! If you say that your knees are hurting you, watch out because there is a lot of kicking and jumping (though I'm pretty sure the Insanity workout is more aggressive). You can always find TaeBo in your local library too if you want to try it first (though probably an…

This was a perfect response. Thank you for saying that.

Question...did you every have a roll over stomach? Being large, that's one of the things I deal with and wonder if it will ever go away? I know I'll have excess skin, but I'm hoping there's hope to lose the roll. BTW...CONGRATULATIONS! Be proud of your success and just keep going at it every day.

No. I don't mention my "diet" or any words that refer to watching what I eat, I simply say: "I'm changing my habits." It seems to work. No one bothers me about it. No one has even tried to "help" me abstain from any kinds of foods, because I'm already doing that on my own.

That's what I'm dealing with now. I think mine is nearly gone (hopefully cleared within the next two months) but I know how painful it is.
