Hey, I was just about to post that I'm looking for more supportive and active users who want to encourage one another and provide helpful/supportive comments as we go along. Feel free to friend me.

Sorry if I didn't see your reply right away. In still getting used to the iPhone version MFP.

Me too! Let's help each other out as we learn to make small lifestyle changes:

Last year I was in the same boat. The C25K program did wonders for me & now I'm training for a 15K. It's a great way to start slow & work your way up.

Washing your shoes isn't going to do much because they can't dry like clothes & so mold develops. Otherwise, Odorous Eaters spray has done some good for some of my shoes, but if yours are just too far gone it may be time to replace them. One thing to do in the future is to get replaceable insoles & change them every few…

When I run I don't typically have the energy to wave & sometimes it's hard to muster up a smile for half a second. Nothing to do with the other person, I just feel like crape & can't do anything to show different. ;-)
-
I'm sorry that happened, however, don't take it at face value. Being that you all had a few drinks and your history of bickering like brother & sister, it's no surprise that this eventually happened. Often when people joke it's at another persons expense, whether it is weight, sense of time, style, a personality trait, and…

Go get fitted for proper running shoes & supports they suggest. The typical over the counter supports don't have the necessary strength or shape, but there are brands made for runners that are nearly as good as person orthotics, but much cheaper.

I've never had it, but I've always been overweight so I'm not sure if I ever will. Another MFP friend had once mentioned that through her success in running, she attained a slight thigh gap. I don't know if it was from her body type or exercise, but most runners out there (the marathoners I've seen) typically have very…

I was having great success doing my own thing (until I fell off my own bandwagon for a while). I'm back on the wagon & making slow progress, but it is my choice & my own doing (I really dislike being forced to do anything). If you don't have good form, get a trainer that can help you along the way, bit you can make your…

P.S. I disagree with the "no shoes" idea. Though this might be good for some times, if you have severe issues with flat feed you need proper strength to build up when they are supported correctly.
-
I've had the same problem (pronate in so badly that my feet flatten out). I went to a running to to get properly fit for shoes & then added the Powerstep insoles (these are better than standard over the counter insoles as they have a higher & strong arch support than pharmacy brands). You can also get them online (Amazon…

Are you getting hit on on MFP? Lol.

It depends on the size, and it depends on the person. My sister dropped from a 12 to a 6 a while back and gave me a really node sweater and some really nice suits & dresses to my mom. I'm looking forward to getting into the sweater, but my mom (though she looks great in my sister's clothes) doesn't feel good because she…

Yes. Not every time, but I also feel pain/tension in my right shoulder while running. Haven't quite figured out why, yet.

Bravo!

Me=40 7126+40=7166

I have the same problem. Because I still have a larger belly, as I run it bounces a little and loosens my pants. Even if you think you don't look good in spandex, they are better for staying on during rigorous activity, or get something with a drawstring (that will insure that your pants stay on). Good luck.

Check the library for videos/Dvds or on youtube you can search for some longer workout videos for free. Oh, and Goodwill/second hand stores. I've found things there.
-
Yes. Oak Park. Anyone else? I need a running buddy.

This may sound silly, but your husband may just want a little extra to hold onto. :-) (One of my best friends is about your size and that's what her husband had said to her). In the end it's up to you, as long as you continue to do things healthfully.

Congratulations!

I don't have any myself, but factor in kids and it makes a LOT of sense when people say they are busy.

It's a total life change. It can be confusing and scatter and I understand the tears. It's steps towards a you that you may have never met before and your heart just isn't sure how to let thatperson is. Congrats on the changes, I hope you can open yourself up the the new, strange possibility that this changed person brings.

I. Agree that it viewing it as a lifestyle change & not a diet will change the way you approach eating & the people around you. In my own life, those people who liked to talk about my weight or what I how I would look, I finally just went with bluntness and told them to stop talking about it. At first I tried to be gentle…

You should ask the professionals this kind of question. If you're a member of a gym, talk to some of the trainers there, or look up training schedules online.

It may be the size of the pork chop. Frying it will always increase the calorie content.

In an answer to both questions, listen to your body and don't go too hard on yourself in the beginning. I'm like you where I can't eat anywhere close to the time I exercise because it just doesn't feel good. As for the knee issue, you could have specific health issues, but also, when you aren't moving your body the…
