  • 5'3 and I started at 250+ lbs. After a few setbacks these past couple months I've seriously been loosing weight. I weigh in tomorrow so my ticker will move from 33lbs lost to more soon! I saw someone ask about calories mfp has you eating... When I started they had me at 1500 calories... now that I've lost 30+ lbs they have…
  • She asked if it was possible to lose an x amount of weight. I replied with my experience in losing a number close to the amount she wants to lose and cited healthful ways to do so. Also, the way you phrased that... it felt as if you were making light of how much weight I lost in the amount of time that I have as if it was…
  • Everyone's body is different and I've learned that our opinions of what fits us right is different. I found out I've always been wearing clothes that are to big for me because I like the looser fit even if it then ends up looking baggy on other parts of me. That being said I've gone from a size 24 to a size 18 jeans wear…

  • I've lost about 30 lbs in the same time frame you're wanting to lose 40lbs. I've done it by eating healthy and putting in healthy snack options to eat and following the Harcombe diet. I also exercise multiple times per day and drink alot of water. I've completely cut out soda from my diet and unless that is the only thing…
  • Yogurt, and if I need more fruit I'll mix fruit with it. But I keep a stash of greek non fat plain yogurt in the freezer and when I want a treat or am just hungry I'll pull one out and slowly make my way through it. With it being frozen it takes longer to eat and I can judge just how hungry I actually am. And sipping on…
  • Oooohh! To echo the others.... Definitely a Photoshoot! *goes to pick out a photographer now*
  • I schedule multiple exercises throughout the day. If I miss one or two of them because something came up I just work harder on the next one.
  • Thanks everyone. I am definitely going for it!
  • Heehee... that wedding is a year+ away.from today. I'm sure I can lose the last 100lbs in a year. I'm averaging 2lbs a week normally... some weeks are 1-7lbs but most have been around 2. I'm determined, plus this same group of people seem to think that my friendly motivator personality means that I'm dumb... I mean to also…
  • Don't worry about the needle not moving on the scale so to speak. I had a 3-4 week period while i was dealing with stress and some other life issues where I didn't gain or lose a single lb. Then things settled back down, I increased my exercise (extended the exercises I'd been doing.) Introduced some new foods into my diet…
  • Nothing truly to add just bumping the post so more people can see it and find support, motivation, and perhaps a good book to help deal with issues. *much love and hugs to all* Selenity
  • My rewards for when I completely accomplish my goal. *New Wardrobe- Professional, casual, party dresses, formal dresses (There are alot of weddings,, confirmations in my family coming up), date night clothing, beach wear. And of course Shoes! (I am a bit of a girly girl when it comes to shoes.) *The sexy belly dancing…
  • I don't own a car but as an au pair the family I work for provided one for carting around their kids. Volvo station wagon.
  • I'm 5'3 and so far I've lost about 33 lbs. (ticker below will show exact number) I'm not finding it to difficult and I seem to be losing a bit fast. I'm averaging 2-3 lbs a week but I'm also doing a ton of exercise.
  • Hmmm... seems to make sense when explained like that.
  • Thank you so much for pointing out the mfp tool! I honestly hadn't realized it was there. I'll likely be using both but I'm really glad to know that this is here and will be easier to use for my logs I think.
  • In your post it wasn't clear to me. Glad it's not the latter. You mentioned a calorie deficit and I wasn't sure how you meant it. Keep up the good work! :)
  • Well it depends. As long as your body is getting what it needs from the food you are eating there can be muscle development. Though may I ask, are you just not eating back your exercise burned calories or are you eating less than what you should be eating before exercise? If it's the latter I must caution against…
  • Heya, I'm in your age range and height. I'm 25, 26 in September, and I'm 5'3. I've lost 32 lbs since I started here a few months ago. My diet has been alot of it. I follow the Harcombe diet where I basically eat healthy, cut out the processed junk, and keep my fat meals separate from my carb meals. Recently I started…
  • You can do it! I look forward to seeing both of us cross into the winners circle! Because anyone that can stick to their goals and achieve their health and weight loss goals are winners!
  • Awesome Job! Keep up the good work!
  • I like making smoothies. I'll use greek yogurt plain as the base, add in fruit, skim milk, and ice and I'm good to go! Alternatively I'll walk up to the ice cream shop and buy a single cherry yogurt cone and I feel good because I walked there and back to get it so I feel as if I worked for it. ^_^
  • Thank you everyone! When I reach my next mini goal and I get my corset dress I'll take pictures and post my before and progress pics!
  • You'll get there snoppdog! And thank you both! We'll all get to where we want to be!
  • Welcome! I've been using mfb for a couple of months and I love being able to see the progress I've made at a glance! You can do it! I used to think that there was no way that I was going to loose all of the weight that I've lost but now... well I'm 32 lbs down and 83 left to go! We can do this!
  • Thanks everyone! And I can definitely relate. I was thinking that my band size would go down to but that's gone up as well. I was wearing a 36 or 38 D when I started this journey and now my bras are now 40 DDs. But... today I had a scale victory.... 2 more lbs are lost! *dances* Well... I'm hoping that my boobs stay where…
  • Sent a request to join! My goal is to lose 7-10 lbs in August as well! I'm currently averaging 2.7 lbs a week over a ten week period!
  • I've been following the Harcombe diet. Where, for a long story short, I have been separating my carb meals from my fat meals. You can read more about it here. It's not a diet really but a lifestyle change. You really can eat as they speak for the rest of your life. There are three phases. Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3.…
  • Welcome to the boards! I'm 25 currently but I turn 26 in September. In ten weeks I've lost 27 lbs I still have 88 to go to get my goal weight and if I go for what the doctor recommended is I need to lose another 108... I apparently carry my weight well as no one believes I'm in the 200's.
