Great job everyone.

Even though it is my Birthday as well as Valentines day probably not much on the day itself. Have to work and will go to the gym. I am sure my Husband will have something for me and we have plans for a steak and shrimp dinner the weekend after.

I may not of liked some of the actions of previous presidents but this is the first time I have actually been afraid of what is going to happen.

I visit this page occasionally but usually keep fairly quiet. My real name is on line and I know if it becomes widely know that I consider myself an atheist a lot of people will treat me differently. I am glad however that there are like minded individuals on this page.

Hi just saw this group on my home screen today. I don't know why but every time I seem to get close to my weight goals I start sabotaging myself. I am using the first of October as my new starting point. I really need to start keeping a physical food diary again. Without it I just do not watch what I eat. The changes and…

I would like to join. I need to get back on track.
-
I started at 161 and I am now around 148. At 5.1 my goal is to maintain between 135 and 140.
-
Hope to reach my first real mile stone next week. I should be under 150 lbs for the first time in 2 years. Only around 10 more lbs to reach my final goal although they say that is the hardest.

Hello from Evansville Indiana.

I love your attitude. I listen to a lot of people around me talking about this diet or that diet and denying certain foods. For me that is a sure way to failure. If I deny myself the occasional treat I am more likely to go out an binge on the very item I am trying to avoid.

Having tough thoughts today. This weekend is my birthday and we are going out of town. Will be eating in restaurants most of the time. Part of me just wants to leave the food journal home and just have fun without worrying about it.

When the weather is nice and warm I try to walk every day I do not go to the gym. I always walk alone. I just put on my headphones, listen to my music and walk the hilly streets in my neighborhood.

It is hard sometimes. I jumped on the scale for my weekly weigh in and have gained back two pounds. I know and tell myself that weight isn't everything. It is more how I feel and how my clothes fit but it is still discouraging sometimes. Especially when you are trying very hard to watch what you eat and getting exercise.…

I don't think it is ever too late to join. Welcome.

I know how this feels. When I lost my job 1.5 years ago I just started slowly gaining the weight back. Now in a new home and new job I needed to get serious again for health reasons. Welcome to the group. You can do it.
-
It is tough but don't let it get you down. I really try to use the scale only as a minor reference. I am more concerned about my measurements and how my close fit. Hang in there.

Thanks. the information helps.

I completely understand. Son is graduating from college in April and I want to drop 25 pounds so I can buy a nice new outfit and look good. It is just hard sometimes especially in the winter to stay moving.

HI: I am turning 45 next month and really need help with motivation. Was really bad over the Holidays and tipped the scales at 161 when I weighed in last week. This group looks like it may be a good fit. :)

You are welcome to add me! I am really trying to get the courage to register for a race but I'm afraid of not being able to finish. It will be interesting to see how your event goes. Good Luck!!

I am 5'1" and hoping to get the 135lbs.

The problem is I do not think that there is any one right way. Unless you have real medical problems your body should tell you if it feels right. I work out early every morning before work and I do at least 45 minutes of cardio every time and then Tuesdays and Thursdays I add at least 25 minutes of strength training…

I am fair weather outside exercise person. If it is cold or wet i stay inside. Luckily my employer has an on site fitness center so I can stay motivated in bad weather because i have to go to work any way and the gym is right there. It is tough though because I really hate the cold.

I do that with my workouts. I put on a 20 lbs weight vest which really is only about half the weight I have lost. It really feels good to be able to take it off after every work out. You really don't realize how much it is when it is coming off slowly.
-
I think it is going to depend on how hard you work at it. It has taken me nearly ten years to lose 35 lbs, but I have been really sporadic with my eating habits.
-
I have lost almost 40 lbs on my journey so far and while I am not totally happy with my belly yet I really love my calves. I also love that I now have a true waistline instead of being a tube (as one of my sons schoolmates said at one time).

It has been a long slow 7 years for me to lose the almost 40 lbs total. It was done by exercising more often and more intensely as well as slowly reducing how much I ate.
