You're singin' my song, LadyLilion! Same here. I dropped 50 pounds on MFP four years ago, hit a rough patch in life, stress ate and abandoned the gym - gained back every pound. AAAAAKKKKKK! Now life is back under control and I'm ready to get back up on the horse. Looking forward to working on this together!

I started on a fitness journey in 2013 and lost 50 pounds. I never knew anything so difficult and yet so exhilarating. Then I had an unbelievably stressful 2014 and gained back every ounce. So, I hear you. My life is back on track, and now I'm determined to get my health back on track. A few things that help keep me…

I had to quit eating Chia Seeds, sadly, because they, ahem, "clogged up the plumbing..." :-(

I weigh myself once a month. I was so obsessed with the scale that I was experiencing disappointment and frustration because I wasn't losing as fast as I thought I should. I knew I needed to adjust my motivation to getting healthy and fit instead of losing weight. So, I've committed to weighing once a month, and that did…

I struggle with hamburger knees, too - one of many motivations for me to get healthy. I'm 50, and have struggled with weight all my life. And this is also my second round with MFP, but this time, I'm doing really well. Let's be MFP friends!

Try snacks that are higher in protein. It really does make you feel more full for longer. My number one snack: hard-boiled egg whites. Super cheap, tasty, high in protein, low in cals and carbs and easy to bring to work. I pop up to 5 per day, some days. Also, try cottage cheese, string cheese, greek yogurt (I mix a T of…

As Elaine Bennis said, "I swear I don't know how you guys walk around with those things."

I ran into this very problem a few weeks ago. Among changes like keeping a closer eye on my carb and sodium intake, I also decided to weigh only once a month. That way, I'm truly forcing myself to concentrate on FITNESS, not weight. It's made a big difference for me - I'm finally truly building my life around being healthy…

I am going through this EXACT thing and it's SO frustrating! I think I've decided to move my focus off the scale and back to just getting healthy, and start weighing myself only once a month.
