Can you give us the gist in one sentence?

It sounds like you're definitely making a healthier change. As for gaining weight with checks from the doctor in mind, you'll need to reassess your diet. Are you tracking your food on My Fitness Pal? If so, are you weighing it? Would you be willing to open your diary?
-
Can you make your diary public?

Being that you cannot "spot reduce", there is no "last place" for the fat to go away. It depends per person. Start a strength program as has been suggested to you in several threads. Make sure to fuel yourself properly, which has also been suggested to you in other threads. One of the best posts to read to get you started:…

Feel free to add me!! I pick things up and put them down. I try to log faithfully, but when I don't I try to note if I was busy/sick/whatever. I also love Sherlock and Supernatural! W00t!

YUP. I was too slow on the draw. What this smart guy says.
-
I clicked this thread to pretty much say this. I've only spotted a few "bulky" women and they were women who compete either in strong women events or do physique competitions of some sort.
-
^^ OP - Listen to the lady.
-
Oof, thanks, michikade. I had no clue this question has been asked in several other threads with like answers. :noway:

What Katya said: Definitely start some sort of resistance/weight training. You don't have too much to lose. Weight lifting will help to change your "figure". Edit: This thread is currently going - worth a look! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1120789-females-only-lifting-weight-training-results

Height and weight. Edited to add: Also, how often are you exercising and what are you doing?
-
Yes, but please answer our questions previously posted in this thread.
-
^^ What Holly said.
-
OK - but we need to know your Height and weight. I see your age on your profile. Also, how often are you exercising and what form?
-
What are you looking to accomplish? Is this a dietary request, i.e. am I getting enough X in my diet, or are you looking to see if your diary is conducive to losing/gaining/maintaining your weight? What are your stats?
-
^^^^^^ THIS.
-
...I am a "Small person" and I get hangry if I eat 1200 calories, whole foods or otherwise. Especially if I work out as much as the OP.

There's a range - but really, focus on health and body fat. I met a woman at the gym who is shorter than me and about 14lbs heavier. She'd probably be off the charts BMI wise. But she is muscular. My male trainer is learning a new squat technique from her as she definitely knows what she is doing. She recently won a strong…

Bravo. Weight training has slimmed me down in ways I thought I'd never see again. And yes, I've lost inches, especially in my hips/glutes.
-
Just started, and using the bare minimums. We'll see. Going to give it a try for a month or so.

This will cheer you up. http://www.buzzfeed.com/hannahbass/do-you-even-lift-bro

I'm with ya! Sorry, I edited and meant to also 'quote' you.

1) Preach, SherryTeach :) 2) I am 5'1" and I skimmed the low 130s at my highest weight. My build is small. So for me, that extra weight definitely made a difference. For others, the low 130s at 5'1" will be perfect. 3) Sexypants link STAT 4) Find a balance as Sherry stated.

It does take a few weeks for everything to shift, so be patient. You've started on a healthy journey, so YAY! In regards to measuring - are you using cups or are you weighing food? Check this out for an eye opener: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVjWPclrWVY

THANK YOU. I hate seeing this argument repeated time after time.

I try to pre-log as much as I can. I also use a digital scale when I prep my foods, and pre-portion things like almonds and protein powder. I haven't cut out peanut butter or cheese. I just make sure to weigh it and to log it. I still drink Alcohol, but far less frequently.
