Yup. This and/or underestimating calories.

It is my go to thread when I hear muscle and female :)

^^ This. We're not talking super crazy muscles. You can do body weight exercises as well. But for another take, see this awesome thread. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/977538/halp-heavy-lifting-made-me-supah-bulky/p1 Eat well and start some resistance/weight training.

That's because they run on the inside track that surrounds the cardio machines. Duh.

I agree with everyone that has posted so far. Just keep on keepin' on. Exercise and eat at a healthy deficit. Drink plenty of water. You'll lose a little, but your confidence will be through the roof.

How about celery sticks with peanut butter?

Stress, a loss in the family and tons of comfort food. Sheesh. Getting back to it, though!

IBS is such a crazy thing, isn't it? I was diagnosed about 7 years ago. This thread is filled with a lot of good ideas, so I'll probably repeat a few things. 1) Definitely keep an eye on your food log, and note how you feel/felt that day. No issues? Tons of issues? Did you have a stressful day? 2) Fiber is your friend, but…

RIGHT?!? I also saw the scale move once I started realizing weighing was the way to go.

Major help. That plus actually looking at the labels and understanding what a "Serving" means.

Hm. What's your height, and can you open your diary? Your carbs seem pretty high, but that's just me. I'm doing macros on a cut and I'm 135/60/115 ETA: I agree with the posters below.

It wasn't until very recently that I was diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression. I was having panic attacks and severe issues with fatigue and motivation. I probably gained the most during that time, but I'm almost back to where I want to be. I have been to several talk therapy sessions and it has helped greatly. Consider…

I think it's just a matter of access and time. I've never heard of it going out of fashion. I see people swimming laps or participating in water aerobics all the time at my gym. I'm not a strong swimmer, so it's not my exercise of choice due to safety.

Quoting for truth. o_O

I usually find the USDA number for nutrition value. For example, for chicken thighs, I use the entry for USDA Chicken thighs, cooked (if cooked) and weigh that way. It's usually in grams. If not, you can make your own entry.

This thread is quite long, so I haven't read every reply. At any rate, I wish a lot of these shows would focus on therapy as well. Sometimes on this particular show, the surgeon and/or his office will recommend a therapist, but usually not until AFTER the client expresses depression. In a lot of these cases (granted, not…

You. I like you.

Sorry, bombardment with questions. Can you make your food diary public for review? Also, how tall are you? Do you think the gout has come in to play? Have you spoken to your doctor about your weight loss goals?

I need all of these. :D

I need all of these. :D

Busiest quarter for me, so I can't afford to be laid up. I had the flu really bad years ago. Never again.
-
I was going to ask what you were doing for exercise/activity as well.
-
All. Of. This.

In to read later

All of this. That list... WOW. But seriously, weighing your food is the most accurate way to figure out what you are taking in.

Yeah. This. My birthday is within a week of the holiday, when a lot of Christmas parties are going. I've learned to celebrate on my own time, although my husband always remembers as well as my closest gal pals. My parents have forgotten it from time to time as have my brothers. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Then LIFT!! Strength training helps to change your body's composition. If you want to look better - lifting is the way to go. This is a little of an 'extreme' but she started on the base level. You can see her progression here: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/ For the…
