  • Hello. Been away a long time. Spent the winter sitting on my butt, gained a lit of weight, now I need to at least get that back off. .. I know you guys can help!
  • Back to the topic, in MY personal journey, I tend to stall ever so often. This will last from 2-5 weeks. It is frustrating, yes, but keeping on track helps. There are suggestions here to try different things such as changing from white rice to brown, or adjusting you diet. Sometimes the smallest changes help. Good luck and…
  • "I hate to hear someone say... "I thought you were on a diet!" It doesn't matter that I might have saved up my calories for a treat, or recently lost 50 pounds. Whenever someone says that to me, it takes the fun out of whatever I was going to eat." ***This gets to me also!
  • That is a great post! Thanks so much. And I needed it! Dawn
  • I use tenderloins a lot! You can easily put them on the grill, just watch not to overcook - for they have little fat in them and will dry out fast. Sounds yummie to me!

  • I also have trouble with bread - same here - it has to be toasted. I also have problems with gummy breads such as soft taco shells. You mentioned that a child size spoon may help.... I also wanted to mention that for me anyway - it is not the size of the spoon, it is the time I take chewing that matters.
  • I have problems still with so many foods.. for instance I wanted italian sausage for dinner, but I know when I eat it I have to skin it, make sure it is cooked enough- cannot eat the veggies, and very little bread. So today I cooked the sausage then let them simmer in the crock pot for hours,.. I think this did help.. they…

  • I can give you some input. This is me. I had bariatric surgery in 2002 - so I am more that 21 months out. Back then it was a different type of surgery, called VBG (vertical band gastroplasty). Anyhow, there definitely is a window of time that you will lose weight at a steady pace, and then it is over. Now you will need to…
  • I am in! I weigh in on Mondays and will use that for a weekly weight tool.
  • I would like to know also...
  • When is the next challenge?
  • Hi everyone! My name is Dawn, and I am hoping this group will be great for me! I am over 300 lbs and have been since I have been 20 yrs old. I am now 53. At one point I was almost 450 lbs, and in 2002 I had bariatric surgery - lost about 150 lbs - and was under 300 for a month or so.. that is it. I struggle every day with…
  • Hi Smokey, It is possible to stretch out your pouch, I also know that your weight loss slows down -and there will be many plateaus as your body adjusts. So take it easy on yourself... 70 pounds is a lot of weight- be proud!
  • Seems funny... I have tried all that I mentioned.. and found out the hard way how these foods work on me. :)
  • My motivation is to be able to walk without back pain, fit into clothes that are not sold in "fat lady shoppes", and just feel better. I am 53 and my weight is my problem with my health. I struggle all the time.....
  • Hi Kim, I also believe old habits are hard to break, and changes are not made overnight. Change takes time, and all humans will make mistakes... some more than others (looking at me) So, to take away your feeling of guilt... as soon as you take that bite or do whatever you did that makes you feel like that - Start over…
  • Hi Everyone... My name is Dawn, and I am here for support! It is nice to have others in the same boat with you for just that. I have been through what most have been... so I will not repeat it. What is different tho - I had bariatric Surgery back in 2002. I lost 150 lbs... yeah that sounds great.. but I started at 450. In…
  • I need to lose 100 - add me too - anyone who would like to!:embarassed:
  • I also was with WW, and find this better because of it being free! MFP is set up much like WW... and I am glad I found this....
  • Hi all, I am in Syracuse area, had bariatric surgery in 2002, lost 150 lbs, and was still not at my goal - still needed to lose another 100 pounds. I have since gained back 50 of that lost, and I am struggling. I hope everyone here can help!
