After viewing your diary, it is clear the answer is not a simple one. I have read that eating too few calories can cause your metabolism to slow and that could be what is going on here. I wish there was a simply answer (like a bad diary log) but that is not the case. A personal trainer told me I should not diet once a week…

What are you eating when you add "quick added calories"?

If you can afford it and have space, a recumbent exercise bike may be worth researching. Good luck.

I don't think constructive advice can be provided as to why you are not loosing weight without knowing details on your current weight, activity level, and diet. It is possible to gain wt on 1100 calories a day if , for example, you are 3ft tall and you currently weigh less than 70 lbs and you are bed ridden. :) I hope my…

An amazing accomplishment requiring strength of will and perseverance. Now the beauty that has always been there is easier for others to see.

My wife makes a large batch of this I have eat it for several days in a row. It does not freeze well due to the cabbage. http://www.isi.edu/~sdr/cabbage-patch-stew.pdf

I like your two cents. Good luck to you!

I recommend that you go to a good running store and have them fit you based on a number of criteria including size, weight, cushioning vs stability, and pronation, just to name a few. Buy the shoe they recommend. Use it for a few days and bring it back if you don't like it. A good running store will allow it. Pay the…

Thank you for your post. I used to get cold and thought it was due to my weight loss (less fat keeping me warm). I now weigh the same but I am no longer cold. The information in the link you posted resonates with my personal experience.

I put my money where my mouth is and bought the OXO Food Scale from Zappos. I have had it a couple days. I like it. It is easy to read and use. Nice backlight, toggles between grams and ounces, zero's out, and the detachable faceplate moves the disply out from under large containers. The 11lb capacity is more than I will…

My Base Metabolic Rate (BMR) is 1900 calories a day. If I do not exercise and eat 1900 calories a day I will stay at the same weight. If I reduce my calories to 1200 a day I will have a 700 calorie deficit (i.e., 1900 - 1200 = 700). At that deficit I will loose 1.4 pounds per week without exercise (e.g., 7*700/3500= 1.4).…

I have had this too without the cocoa powder but it is not calorie free as the almond milk adds calories. I also noticed the prepared almond milk has a lot of additives. I make my own with just raw almonds and water in a vitamix blender. It is also good served very cold on cereal.

I agree but it may take a few weeks. I like stevia in cold drinks but not hot drinks. I have read that research suggests artificial sweetners effect blood sugar so they can raise your appetite.

I run ~ 30 miles a week with a running belt by amphipod. The current version appears to be the AIRFLOW MICROSTRETCH BELT. Its stretchy, holds my iphone, power bar, cash, and credit card. I prefer to tie my keys to my shoe laces. I sometimes have to check to make sure I am wearing ithe belt because I can't feel it. I also…

I have tried several things that help. Macha Green Tea, fat-free greek yogurt sweetened with stevia, brushing my teeth and gargling with a strong mouth wash. Go to bed and get extra sleep.

I don't mind people passing me by unless they are pushing a baby stroller and pregnant. I just ran the Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10K with my son and we were both bent on passing two guys in front of us. It had nothing to do with being competitive and all to do with the fact that they were running in nothing but speedos and…

Its similar to a soup I make and call cabbage patch soup. Basically, I substitute a large head of cabbage for the mushrooms and 6 cups of non-fat chicken stock for the v8 juice. Mine does not freeze because the cabbage would become very mushy. I am going to try your version because freezing would be very handy. Thanks for…

Hmmmm... after reading all the replies I guess I'm the only one dreaming of a Paula Deen day after I hit my goal weight.

If I am cooking 4 cups of cooked brown rice I first sauté the rice in1 tsp of sesame seed oil until fragrant and then add boiling water and cook covered until tender. The sesame seed oil adds a nutty flavor that I enjoy.
