I've gone on here before about being frustrated and not losing. Well it's happening again for the amount of time I've been on. Which is really over 100days . I stopped when I was on vacation and restarted when I returned home. Anyway, I should be closer to my goal, well I'm not and I really do not understand I went and talked to my doctor and she told me I needed to lower my caloric intake to 1000! So I thought it may be too low so I went to 1100. I try and stay between 1000 & 1100. I don't know what I'm doing wrong I log my food and activity everyday religiously and I'm up 3 pounds this week. Actually I'm a pound more than when I started back in December. I don't have much to lose. My friend is also doing this and is down almost 20 pounds. So why is this not working for me?!i exercise anywhere from 30-60 minutes a day 5 days a week also. I think I've givin it enough time. At least that was the suggestion I got from others on here last time. Please help! I really need to get this weight off. For my own sake! I want to feel great again and look great in my clothes and not have indentations from my pants and underclothes and socks. Fed up!

are you weighing your food?
and it would help if you opened your diary.0 -
Open your diary so we can see what you are currently doing and offer advice.0

I try and stay between 1000 & 1100.
Your diary isn't open.
Unless you are a very small person, if you were eating what you say you are eating, you would be losing.
Since you aren't losing, there is something wrong with your logging.0 -
I don't think constructive advice can be provided as to why you are not loosing weight without knowing details on your current weight, activity level, and diet.
It is possible to gain wt on 1100 calories a day if , for example, you are 3ft tall and you currently weigh less than 70 lbs and you are bed ridden.
I hope my glib reply does not offend ... but I did warn you that constructive advice could not be provided!0 -
I record everything that goes in my mouth . I'm 5'3" .0

if your not losing weight, your eating too many calories. you can THINK your eating at a deficit, but YOUR NOT.0

You're going to have to open your diary before anyone can really help you.0 -
It's hard to lose weight when you don't have much to lose. It's like your body wants to hang on to those last pounds.
-Are you eating at least half of your exercise calories? Your body might be in starvation mode.
-Are you eating quality calories (1100 calories of lean proteins, veggies, etc. vs. 1100 calories of macdonalds)?
If you are doing both of those things you can always try shaking things up (eating breakfast for dinner, having a high calorie day once in a while to fire up your metabolism, etc.)0 -
I'm going to kinda hijack this post. I'm going through the same thing. Today I said F it so don't look at today's diary!! I try to stay under my calorie goal just to make up for the bits that I am incorrect on logging. I can't lose. I've actually gained this week but I think it's water due to a couple high sodium meals. I use a fitbit and I do random weights. I don't log any exercise because I don't want to mess up my calorie goal. I lowered my calories today. I was eating at 1430. Since that wasn't working I lowered it.
5'4, 38, today's weight was 153, but usually I'm 150 to 151. According to my fitbit weekly report I walked 48,000 steps and 20.7 miles last week.0 -
I know I don't have much to lose. If I where to eat 1200 calories I would gain . This has happened. According to an endocronologist she recommended I eat 1000 calories a day, I have opened up my dairy and you will see I do do activity anywhere from 30 min to 60 min a day. That's 5 days a week with weekends off for rest. I just want to feel better again and see the number on the scale continually move down. I've lost 101 pounds already about 8 years ago and have kept it of within the last few years my weight has kept up and I'm not comfortable. I don't want to be ridiculed I just want help. And understand what is happening. I've talked to my doctor and don't feel I've gotten anywhere.0

What are you eating when you add "quick added calories"?0
-
Those would be recipes that I have the nutritional info for , I use that when I do not have the time to enter in the entire recipe or can not locate the exact item on the site.0

1000 calories a day is way to low. I didn't lose at 1200 and had to bump it up to 1350 before I started losing....0

After viewing your diary, it is clear the answer is not a simple one. I have read that eating too few calories can cause your metabolism to slow and that could be what is going on here. I wish there was a simply answer (like a bad diary log) but that is not the case.
A personal trainer told me I should not diet once a week to jump start my metabolism. Nothing crazy, just maintenance calories once a week. I did not take his advise and did not have an issue but you may need to experiment. He also said alcohol could have a negative consequence on metabolism.
Good luck. Try not to be frustrated. You have done amazingly and should be proud. A healthy life is a journey not a destination.0 -

I would try to avoid quick-add calories.
And your sodium levels are high on quite a few days. For some people, that can cause a lot of water retention which will mask weight loss. Try cutting back on the sodium and see if that doesn't help.
One other thing to keep in mind is that weight loss isn't golf. The person with the lowest score doesn't win. Don't be afraid to eat more. You should eat 1200 minimum (which is what MFP is recommending for you) plus at least half of your exercise calories. You can (and will) still lose by doing that. Don't think you can only eat 1000 every day.0 -
