I would say it's not normal and maybe you should see a doctor. I have had knee problems from trying to run years ago and p90x and Insanity have seemed to help them. I have had no knee pain. Check you form too.

Thanks for your reply. I'll have to read through all that. They base the HRmax on (for females) 209-(.7*age) which for me is 182.4 so I have no idea where the 169 comes from. It's a New Balance N4 (got a good deal on it) so I'm guessing not one of the best HRM. I have it set to Level 3 which has the 90% rate for me at 169, which I think is high. I change the calories burned when logging my exercise to 1. That way I still log my exercise, but only have the 1 calorie in the math.

I was thinking maybe I may need to eat more. Today I did Cardio Power & resistance. Of the 39 minutes, I was in my zone for 28 minutes of that (including the warm up/cool down time). I'm often in 90%+ range for short amounts of time, but usually hang in the 80-85%. I can't really push more than that. I didn't need any…

I don't follow either. I use http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ to calculate my calories. The numbers that site gives already have exercise calories added in. There's a option for gain muscle which gives you a calorie surplus.

just a splash of milk, just enough to change the color, in my 2 cups of drip coffee in the morning. I make a latte every afternoon with espresso and milk. Gotta go get my 2nd cup now.

I take children's chewable vitamin (think Flintstones) and children's gummy omega-3 several times a week when I remember.

I am most definitely in the best shape of my life. I feel better now at 38 than I did at 20 (although I weighed less then). I'll be taking some photos this weekend so I can compare to my pre-p90x photos. I can't see it myself, but I have been getting lots of comments (good ones) lately. I think I'll give Insanity a go.…

Do you mean percent not grams? 40 grams of protein or carbs a day? That seams low to me for either one. I aim for 40% carbs, 30 % fat, 30% protein.

I would either do the move that the guy with one leg does or hop on both feet. I switch every 15 sec instead of 30.
