  • I use chocolate flavored protein, and mix with frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries and a banana. Have one almost every night!
  • I've been trying to get my wife on here! But I tell her all about it and forward her links to some of the blogs people have posted that were worth reading. She did tell me she feels a little neglected, and that I've become all consumed in watching my calories and talking to people about the different aspects of diet and…
  • *LIKE*
  • Embrace the idea that once in a while, it's ok. I bet your are still in a calorie deficit by the end of the week. My wife and I give ourselves every Saturday to break our diet. We don't go crazy (most of the time) but we do allow ourselves a few treats. So relax, and stop fretting! :)
  • I'm a little guilty of age discrimination. I consider myself old, though many would say I'm young. Whatever. I get real uncomfortable having younger woman (read under 18) as a friend on this site. Make me feel like a pedafile or something. I realize this is my own issues, but I did un-friend a young lady who made a comment…
  • Cool fun fact ... I love it! Now to add 20 pounds of muscle...
  • Changed IMG to img
  • Spinning is incredible! Yes, bring a towel and water. In the classes I took, we spent most of our time standing. If you feel you can't keep up, sit down and/or slow down to catch your breath, but don't stop. Also, spinning bikes are not like other bikes: the peddles are connected to a fly wheel, and they will continue to…
  • I'm so excited for you! I too have recently been told by my doctor, "Your blood work is stable" - 5 words I thought I'd never hear!
  • I've never logged calories into the BodyMedia website. MFP is my primary tool. The BMF is what I'm using so I can get an idea of what my maintenance calories should be.
  • You've hear it all, but I'll say it again anyway: 1) You are not eating enough assuming your food calories and workout calories are accurate 2) The scale is a bad way of measuring success. If you need to weigh yourself, do it first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom. Do not weight yourself once you've started…
  • -When a person should do A, they will always do B. -When a person should be quick about something, then tend to stand there mesmerized by nothing by something unrelated. -Thinking of James Bond ... just shoot him for crying out loud! Don't talk, don't assume he is dead, but the gun to his head and watch his brains fly out…
  • ^^ This!
  • Most days, the information I get looks pretty accurate regarding my sleep. I did notice last night it said I got up for about 90 minutes ... sleep walking? :) I'm a light sleeper and make multiple visits to the bathroom each night. I tend to look at the clock to see what time it is when I get up, and that part is pretty…
  • Sorry, should have asked what exercises you are doing on it. But I think I get the picture. If you are going through different exercises without resting, or resting just a little, log is as circuit training. If you are taking rest breaks, log it as circuit training, but only count half to 2/3 of the time you spent doing…
  • You won't want to use a HRM to calculate daily burn, though they do make water proof ones. My Polar FT7 can be used for swimming. You could consider a BodyMedia fit, which is made by the same people who make the Bodybugg, but only charge $6.99 each month. I also use the above BodyMedia fit (only for a week now) to get some…
  • I was basically thinking the same thing!
  • My wife and I allow ourselves a spike day where we allow ourselves some indulgences. We plan on going over our calorie goal, but not going crazy with it. It's every Saturday and give us motivation to be good through the week. We are both losing weight since we still have a weekly deficit. Something to consider.
  • ^^ This I've done the evening workouts and the morning workouts. I'm more consistent with morning workouts. I also love having the workout fished before I go to work. Nothing like starting the day with an endorphin high! :)
  • There is a woman at my gym, probably 5'3" and 300 pounds. I have so much respect for her and want to tell her so ... but won't because I don't want to hurt her feelings about being so large and giggly. She's been going now for about 4 months. This too has impressed me so much! Honestly, i don't watch her so much as notice…
  • I'm planning to start this in about a month. I was a little concerned when I saw what starting weights I should be using, accept for the bench where it suggested starting at 3 x 3
  • I usually have one a day! Normally after I get ALL my water.
  • What are you doing with it?
  • What is your plan for use? If you want to track your movements for the day, the Fitbit is what you want. If you want to know your caloric burn from a non-weight training workout, HRM is probably better.
  • LOL!!!!
  • "muscle weight more than fat" is incomplete. It makes assumptions that not everyone will make correctly. Ever watch, "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" People forget or didn't learn a lot of stuff that others assume is common knowledge. If you are making the statement that muscle weight more than fat, you are probably…
  • Periods between words.... Just kidding, I do that too! My brother in law always says, "What you shoulda did is...." You mean "what I should have done", right?
  • My comment is usually, "You just did, but I'll give you a second question because I like you!"
  • "Irregardless" Sorry, the word is regardless. Only politicians say irregardless, and that should be the best reason not to use it! "I go..." Someone is telling you about a conversation they've had: "... and I go, 'You can't do that!', and he goes, 'just try to stop me!', and I go, 'maybe I will', and he goes..... "Here's…
  • I just did this first week of analysis to figure out how the BMF compares to MFP + HRM. Interesting! The first thing I notice is that my Circuit training (M/W/F) registers very different between the BMF and the HRM. The second thing I'm seeing is that the BMF has me burning more calories each day than what MFP has, even…
