  • Funny, this exact same topic was posted about 2 hours ago! :) Like they've said, warmp-up, weights, cardio.
  • OMG ... You are NOT old! Not not not!
  • It took me a long time to convince myself that health was more important!
  • You did a great job of losing weight! Even so, I'm not sure recommending a 1000 calorie a day (average) diet is a great thing to do.
  • Had that problem last night! It was the first time and I didn't manage to eat them. I decided it was ok since I over did it on Saturday. Sort of broke even in the long run.
  • Are you recording EVERYTHING in your food diary? If so, you need to eat more. Are you accurately recording your water? If so, you need to drink more. On some days you are recording around 700 calories. That is bad. If this is a habit, read this article to see why you can't lose weight this way:…
  • Take measurements too!!!!!!!
  • Yes! I also regret not taking measurements. My "before" picture was taken about a year before I started. And it's not a very good pose.
  • What is: 1) Your Social Security Number 2) Mothers maiden name 3) Date of birth Just kidding!! PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THESE!
  • The new "in" thing, unless it's now the new "old" thing is to do weights first. I think the biggest reason for this is so you can give your maximum effort during the weight training period. Your max after cardio will be lower.
  • Oops, my post above may not have been relevant! Sorry! If you want to tone up and you are exercising, you need to fuel your body for that. It's possible to add muscle at a deficit, but I'm not convinced that is what you want (or need). My guess is that you want to replace some of the fat with muscle. This would likely…
  • ^^^ This! I was just reading an article (link is at home, darn it!) where "Jane" was eating a low calorie diet. She also was working out. Her body had reached equilibrium, and the scale wasn't budging. Because "Jane worked out and burned a lot of calories, adding more workout wasn't the right thing to do. There were good…
  • Whenever I'm hungry! My food diary would leave you to think (rightly) that I'm hungry all the time.
  • Myth: Muscle growth happens quickly! You'll wake up one day and be ripped! Fact: It takes forrrrrevvvvverrrrrrr to grow muscle ... anyone who wants muscle growth will attest to this. Myth: Smooth curves come from un-toned muscles Fact: Smooth curves come from a layer of fat OVER the muscles. Take away the fat, take away…
  • This is what I was thinking ... except for #4. That should be reserved for a reward (IMHO)
  • Pasta! It'll get you ever time!
  • I have a BodyMedia Fit, which I believe is made by the same people who make the BodyBugg. I won mine on eBay as well. I went to their website and created an account and then followed their steps to download the sync software. The last research I did, you can ONLY get the data by uploading it: there is no display. Same…
  • Let's see here, my 49ers have 5 of those little trophies. And they came damn close at another chance this year! Took the whole NFL by surprise! Did I mention the Steelers didn't do well when they played against my Niners?! (Sorry, couldn't help myself!) Feel free to send me hate mail. :flowerforyou:
  • Every time I hear that, my wife knows it's time to plug her ears! "America's team? What does that make me? Canadian? NO WAY!!!!"
  • LOL ... I do love the SF Giants! Sorry the fans are making it so unpleasant for you! :flowerforyou:
  • Football, baseball, or both?
  • Cowboys Steelers Raiders (they have the worst fans ever!) NYY LA (Hokey)
  • You all are doing great! I'm out for now ... I've been sick. I'm also finding it hard to do the pushups on the same day as my circuit training. And since pushups are part of my Monday routine, I don't want to be doing them on Tuesday as well. Anyway, I'm going to continue to watch you guys progress into the 100 mark! I…
  • If you should plateau, here is a great article about it. Believe it or not, cutting calories by 50-100 may not be the solution. http://fitnesswithnatalie.blogspot.com/2011/05/most-dreaded-word-in-weight-loss.html
  • I was at home, and only went from the bedroom upstairs to the dinning room table downstairs and ate dinner. I wore my HRM as well because I wanted to compare the what I said vs. what I got. for the 45 minutes the BMF said 300 calories, where my HRM said 363. I wasn't sure which was more accurate, though I tend to believe…
  • So here's my experiment I did today. I use a BodyMedia Fit to try to measure TDEE so I can better gauge what maintenance calories I need. I've only had it a few days, but today was the first time I wore it through an exercise routine. I spent 45 minutes on the stationary bike. Consider the results I uploaded from my…
  • Just viewed your food and exercise diary. It looks like you are doing the right things! You don't log water, so that's something to consider. I just read this article posted by a MFP member, which I found to be very enlightening. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/350212--why-scales-lie
  • It's really hard to gain enough weight over a couple of weeks to noticeably look flabbier. Like someone mentioned, take measurements with a tap measure. That is the single best way to know what is going on. Do you exercise? If so, what are you doing? Are you drinking enough water? Water consumption is important and you can…
  • I think the jury is in on this one, and the verdict is: Any time you work out, it's the right time. Also remember it's equally important to get rest so your body can recover from your workout.
  • Yah, I've read this before and can only assume there is truth in it. I find drinking diet soda very satisfying and don't feel the need to get real sugar. So like you say, if it works for you, it doesn't matter. :)
