  • slimfast. i keep a few on hand for those hectic morning when i get up late or the kids are acting up.
  • i have had one for a bit now and have just started using it again. (it saw me faithfully threw college too). today i put chicken in (2 breasts) and 1/2 cup chicken broth and 1/2 of my fav. bbq sauce and 1/2 onion. and put it on low for 4 hrs and it was falling apart. it tasted soooo good. no need to add any sauce or…
  • i have this recipe! i got it for my son though it's one of 3 breakfast cookie recipes i use. so he'll eat breakfast.
  • i was sick last week and did not go to the gym at all. part was because i was so sick i didn't get out of bed on wend and once i started to feel better i did not want to drain myself or infect all the people at the Y. so i would say when you are sick stay with in your cals and so you don't lose the working out set of mind.…
  • today is a tuesday and tuesdays and thrusdays hubby gets home from college with enough time to change and watch the boys while i take the dog for a quick walk. then he is off to wrestling practice (coach). a toddler a infant and a new puppy does not equall a enjoyable longer walk earlier in the day taking them all by…
  • i track iron and calcium since i tend to run low in those two areas. i track salt since i have a salt senstivity and can not consume a lot. then i track fiber and sugar.
  • rasberry buckle. i am a sucker for breads/cakes/rolls etc.....took me 3 days but i ate a big pan of it all by myself.
  • oh my that looks so good! i think i will have to try making myself one!
  • i am lucky to get to the gym 3 times a week. my goal is 3-5 times a week. to do some cardio for about 30 mins and weights for about 30 mins. i try to get out everyday for a walk either with just the dog or with the whole family. weather permitting right now. and when we are able to go out it's for 1-2 hrs.
  • i was my heaviest when i graduated highschool (school even i am not that heavy.) my last 2 years where hell. i hated it. i didn't fit it. between that and my parents not cooking the healthiest i was in a bad place. then i went to college and that started a whole new chapter in my life. i dropped 72 lbs in 3 years there.…
  • i am perfectly happy without eating meat. but hubby likes it. so he is set for the year. we get most of it ground and freeze it then jerky it as he wants it. deer is very lean. and no steriods or anything :)
  • correct. it just sucks out all the mositure i do not sweeten them with anything. you can rehydrate them for plump berries in baked goods by soaking them just in water. but 2 packages of blueberries dehydrates down to two handfulls so you can not eat as much like 1/2 cup would have to eat half.
  • i agree! i don't get why people are like i'm on a diet i can not eat this or that when in reality you can just in moderation. tonight we are having pizza for dinner! now the 1/3 of thepizza i will allow myself to have prob will not fill me up so we are having salad with it (and i might even have a breadstick) then people…
  • my i will accept it goal is 130 and my i will be happy goal is 120-125
  • it looks like you have a great motivation already. a wonderful family! your profile says it all, you want to get healthy and set a good example for your boys :)
  • i try to pre plan these days. the first week i had to pre plan a day ahead of time so i did not go over but now i know how much i can have and am doing good. so if you know a birthday is coming up and you want cake and icecream and/or pizza. try logging a day ahead of time so you can "play" with your cal's. start with what…
  • good willpower! just a thought if you love pizza try making your own. the crusts are thinner if you make your own and you can controll what goes on it. that way you can still have your cheese but know exactly how much is on it. and you can load it up with veggies. i love spinach or brocolli on my pizza's (yellow squash is…
  • one of my favs. that we are having tonight for dinner is: 1 cup water 3/4 cup white rice (i did use 1/2 white and 1/4 brown to see how that turns out and added more water tonight) 1 can cream of what ever you like (mushroom, chicken etc) soup combine in casserole dish. stir in some paprika and pepper. place chicken on top…
  • dress up a salad. 1 oz of cheese 110 cals. add an egg 90 cals. fat free dressing 40 cals. add some sunfolower seeds or nuts to it or cranberries too.
  • agree 100%. it was so easy to stay on track when i was single/living by myself. i only kept the healthy foods in the house that i could eat. but my husband is convinced he is allergic to veggies or something. he can eat all the junk he wants and drink all the soda he wants and not gain a oz. (right now he is making fried…
  • i usally have a 100 or so deficite. but i figure i eat that with little things. a m&m here an openers fee (1 bite) for the kids snack :)
  • well you should take out all carbs cause if you ever go back to them you will gain wait plus since you were deprived for so long. just limit them. i feel better when i eat healthy than if i eat junk. but i do allow myself that one piece of junk a day. today was a cinn roll (i called it lunch) but usally it's something…
  • i have never had any of my docs say anything about my weight. not when i was at my max or when i dropped to my lowest where i was dangeresly close to the too skinny range. i have had a nurse comment on my legs back in the day when i ran 30 mins a day everyday rain or shine. but that was just "runners always have nice legs"
  • not really. i do wonder why some people come in jeans i can't imagine that 1)that's comfortable or b)they are changing into new jeans after they are done. then i'm envious of thos people who come to the gym looking all put together like they should be in a fitness magazine.
  • no more frozen proccessed foods. make it your self from scratch. and when recipes call for salt you do not have to add it. i do not add salt to anything i make (if someone is over for dinner and wants salt they better bring their own salt shaker i do not own one). i do not add salt to anything and i love how it tasts.…
  • i'll have to look for some crockpot recipes. i love using mine but haven't in awhile. i tend to grill everything so i don't have to use oils :)
  • i shop cheaper produce in the winter. carrots lettauce. is most of my prouduce. i spluge every now and then on grapes or berries. i try to buy what ever is in season. so in the summer i have a lot more fruit in my diet. milk, eggs, whole weat bread. chicken. shop around and compare prices.
  • my fav fish to have. i coat mine in mccormicks lemon and herb seasoning. and grill it. (forman in the winter)
  • hi i breastfeed my son for 9 months. he ended up weaning himself. i had a low suppy and we struggled with one thing or another the whole time. so it was kind of a relief for me when he started refusing to nurse and then after we week i stopped offering to nurse him and he has move on to a bottle. i stopped pumping after…
  • you can add in healthy snacks threw the day. a banana is a good snack and 100 cals. maybe add a little something to your breakfast a glass of oj or a piece of toast.
