It does not need to be rinsed. I eat it as a side. I flavor the water with garlic powder, dried onion, or what ever I feel like. Cooking it in chicken broth is great too. You need to eat back your exercise calories if you are on a 1200 per day diet. You will mess yourself up big time by netting less than 1000 calories a day. Its dangerous and not healthy.

This is where I was 2 years ago and I had to up my calories by 200. I started losing again at a rate of .4 lbs a week, but it came off and I was much happier. I was eating 1200 calories though, so I was not eating near enough to sustain me and be happy.
