Nope. As someone else said above me, that's kind of how I got fat. I'm a total emotional eater. It's problematic, and I was thinking of going to a nutritionist/therapist combo to start helping me iron out my ~issues.

Smile, then eyes. Or, "You're so short!" which people think is a compliment... My family always thinks "You have such a pretty face, if only you were skinnier!" is a compliment, too.

scatter food between periods. when i was teaching and losing at the same time, i would eat my sandwich at lunch, my fruit and my veggies between each period, and then when i came home, i'd have three big glasses of water, figure out if i was hungry, then eat a Greek yogurt with cinnamon. i think it's all about tricking…

Yup, basically use heavier weights or do the harder version of some of the exercises--I went from 177 cals to 150 in two days...then I used 10 pounders instead of 5s for the chest presses, and 5s instead of 3s for the shoulder raises...woohee--back to 177!
-
Do you count all the cals, or do you watch the cals from when your heart rate reaches a certain zone?

At our recent Superbowl party! I ate before going, and despite filling up on veggies while there (lots of broccoli, baby carrots, peppers, etc.) I also made room for two mondo slices of cheese pizza, three handfuls of cheddar popcorn, and four or five tortilla chip clusters full of salsa dip. WAY better than my past…

I'm 4"9, and I want to be a size 4-6 by the end of summer. I'm currently a size 8-10, down from a size 14. I suppose weight wise, I'd love to be 110. I have no idea about weight, I'm more concerned about body fat I think...

Everyone looks great!!!

Thank you guys so much! If anyone who does 30DS wants to add me, feel free! I could always use more friends!

I have the opposite problem! I always get, "Damn, you're short!" And because smaller people rarely get taken seriously at first glance, it's always a tough thing to get people to see past the height. So I definitely agree--our society has an 'ideal' and too tall or too short always merits a gasp.

Hi! I'm Ruchi. 24, an education non-profit community manager. I recently lost 25 pounds, and still have about 30 more to go. I have a sedentary life, so my goal is to get stronger and more fit, with weight loss as a natural byproduct. I also just want healthier foods in my diet. Feb 2nd goals are: 1. Don't eat any…

Hi! 24, feel free to add me! Could always use more motivation/people to help motivate!

Thanks so much everyone for your varying replies and support, indirect and direct. @chrisdavey, absolutely, I know that even only eating healthy foods can make you gain if you eat too much...I think that's the worry I have about striking a balance. How do I be mindful of total intake while at the same time, looking at food…

Er, just to let you know, the shred won't necessarily get you at 25 pounds lost in 2 months (a pace that isn't actually relaxed, considering that the max you ought to lose healthily--as I understand it--is 2 pds per week, so 10 pds per month) but it will let you lose inches. It's not too difficult--but it gets monotonous,…

I agree! I worry because my relationship with food since losing has become unhealthy in the opposite way it was before. When I was heavier, I saw food as my friend so much that when my life was not going so well or felt lonely, I'd eat and eat and eat. Now, I see food as an enemy, so that if my life is not going so well, I…

I dont need to be rated again, but dayum! 9.5! Hot even with the mask!

Absolutely not...I think that's a huge motivator in my even undertaking this journey, which is also, in turn, why I keep giving up. I'm very extrinsically driven, and because I always attribute my lack of dating life to my weight, I often feel my most unattractive at my most lonely. It's a vicious cycle. What's helped is…

@Noki, 9.5, what beautiful eyes! Would've loved to see a bigger smile :)

Thanks guys! I think I'll go with the Mussels + a garden salad, dressing on the side. I REALLY want a slice of veggie pizza, but I don't know if just one slice will be enough! Haha.

Hi! First, I always say the biggest step to losing weight is self-love! You're not dumb about losing weight--you're just 'seeking information that you don't currently have' haha. I know that's nitpicky, but I found that the more and more I casually let myself say things like "I'm so stupid about calorie counting!" the more…

Just wondering, have you seen a doctor to rule out any metabolism issues? I was convinced I was dieting wrong and not working out, when actually, I had a slightly underactive thyroid. I'm on Levothyroxine right now, and have started losing weight again!

Hi everyone! Is it too late to join in? I started this Monday, so I'm on Day 4 today. My legs are SCREAMING, but my arms only burn during the shoulder raises/side lunges, and my abs rarely move past a slight knot in the belly. I've done Level 1 before, so maybe my body is used to those exercises? Anyone ever modify parts…
-
Add me too! Can I assume that most people who posted are okay to be added by others as well? It's always tough to keep my caloric count down without someone saying, "it's worth it!"

I LOVE a cup of greek yogurt with 1 T of apple butter + cinnamon. I also put in pumpkin butter + nutmeg, or sometimes for a more bulky dessert treat, sliced bananas, drizzle of honey, sprinkle of ginger, and four or five mini chocolate chips. Have you ever tried a slather of greek yogurt mixed with honey between two small…

I've just started again! I started at the end of December and got to Level 2, didn't measure inches and such, but DEFINITELY lost--my waist and shoulders were so defined. I got lazy at the start of the month and took off from 30DS for a while, and now I'm starting back with it. Yesterday was Day 1 and it was SO hard. I…
