Not all that weird but put a smile on my face this morning--saw a guy who was in amazing shape just ROCKING along with his tunes. Head banging away between his lifts and the various machines. :)

Lot's of great advice on this thread but it bears repeating, what is good for one person might be terrible for the next. I wore Nike for years, now they aren't right for me anymore as my body has changed as I've aged. I'm now in Asics. The last time I had a professional fitting ( a few moths ago) I tried on 18 pair of…

Six at a time, keep them shelf on in a bowl in the fridge. My fridge is pretty cold so they last fine for the week.

Nope.

The first one (nude) for sure. The white are too bright with the soft blue. Pretty dress btw.
-
It's. what's right for one person isn't necessarily right for the next.

Yoga that focuses on core strength will take care of it.

Of course that alone doesn't make you fat, but it's not going to allow you to burn calories to maintain your weight. I've already lost over half the weight I need to.--I'm already at a healthy BMI I didn't have a ton of weight to lose to begin with. Two pounds a week with exercise and a healthy diet is not going to cause a…

I haven't plateaued, and don't expect to. I am never hungry. If I'm hungry, I have something to eat. I plan my days so I can have healthy food available to me when I'm going to be hungry--and a back up just in case. Being hungry is an invitation to either binge or eat crap food, neither of which is good. I agree with you.…

18 pounds down in two months with the above settings. I beg to differ that it isn't working. By the way, it's not just how many calories you eat but what you eat.

Another fan of oatmeal! I toss in some blueberries. Picking up some protein powder today and going to start adding that as well.

You can do it! Go to a running store (a good one, not a general sports place) and get fitted for a good pair of shoes. I'm talking about a place that will put you on a treadmill and check your gait as part of the fit. Start slow, do two miles every day for a week, then add a half mile.. Keep at it like that until you hit…

The problem is that the "advice" wasn't solicited, didn't come from an expert, and was completely BAD and WRONG for many. I'm happy to read posts by people who are experts, but someone like the OP is in no position to be offering advice to anyone unless they specifically request it. It wasn't advice, it was a rant.

I power walk five miles a day at a 13:30 pace. (4.5 mph). It's terrific exercise. You do not need to run or jog to get the benefits. In fact they can be detrimental as they are high impact and can be hard on knees and hips. Over time you should be able to increase your pace which will help your burn more calories. Good…

Instead of snacks between meals, concentrate on eating foods that take longer to get through your system. Whole grains, lean proteins, etc.

I can tell you that isn't the case. I am 5'6" and would not lose at 1800 calories, I'd gain unless I was exercising off 300 or more of them every day.

There is no way that I'd take medical advice from an obese doctor, nutritionist, or coach. Period. They aren't walking the walk if they are obese. If they have a problem causing them to not be able to have a healthy weight, doctor heal thyself.

Forget the scale, what does the measuring tape say?a

I joined trying to lose weight several years ago, but was unsuccessful in getting to my goal due to a medical condition that was finally diagnosed and treated late last year. A couple of moths ago I was cleared to get back to business and I've lost 18 pounds in a couple of months. My eating habits were never a problem and…

My yoga studio offers it. I already run, practice yoga, and just started strength training--unfortunately there isn't enough time in the week to add that in. It can be done by beginners and people who can breeze through P90X without taking a deep breath--the workouts are tailored to your abilities. If you google it you can…

It didn't come off that way to me. Rather it seemed sanctimonious and "my way or the highway." Her way might work for some, but let me tell you, with only 30-some pounds to lose to begin with, why on earth would I take the freaking slow boat to China route and remain fat and frustrated? My weight gain was due to a medical…

Seems to me that the OP is the hangry one.

Exactly! I'd like to add that our bodies also need stretching for balance and flexibility. Yoga or Pilates are both great for that.

I'm 52. Working on getting back into shape after a medical problem knocked me on my butt for a couple of years. I've lost 18 pounds, probably have 20 to go--they will be gone before the end of the summer. I just started strength training with a trainer, he asked me my goals and one of the, was to have 20% body fat in six…

We have a couple probably in their late 60's or early 70's who come in wearing high end work out gear and $200 sneakers. They walk around looking at the equipment, then each one spends about 30 seconds on the recumbent bike before they wipe themselves with their towels (they aren't sweating) and leave. It's quite bizarre.
-
OMG that made me laugh!

This! The smaller a person is, the less calories they need. We all have different bodies and different needs. I'm losing two pounds a week and seldom go over 1000 calories a day. It works for me. I eat clean, I work out. I don't need as many calories to function as someone twice my weight. I don't eat 2000 when I'm not…

Fortunately those days are behind me, but I always weighed as much as five pounds more starting a few days before until the second day of my period, and then it disappeared in a single day.

Yes. It's everything from genetics to how you carried the baby.

Try a face cream meant to tighten. It didn't take care of 100% of my pooch, but it helped about 50%. Yoga to tone my abs took care of the rest.
