  • Also, when weight training, don't focus too much on the scales. I fluctuate wildly! Take photos and compare once a month. You'll be amazed at the difference if you've stuck with it  I figure it's better to 'only' lose half a pound, and that be mostly fat, and not muscle. It'll be a slower road, but it's easier to…
  • I'm only 5'1'' and physically eating 1600-1900 calories a day and losing weight while strength training with some cardio. Use Scooby calculator to work out your total calorie needs based on your activity level and reduce by 10-15% for a healthy sustainable loss. If you choose sedentary, you should be eating back exercise…
  • 40C/30P/30F. Been lifting again and find I feel all round better with a slightly higher fat and protein intake.
  • She's currently consuming a mere 1100 calories. This is terrible advise. Agree with the other posts regarding nutrient dense items. Don't worry too about what is typically regarded as a healthy or unhealthy food. Calories are calories.
  • Yes eat back exercise calories, although due to extreme overestimates on a lot of common exercises, I personally only eat back about 50-70% of burned calories.
  • Hahahahaha :D
  • Sample news headlines from The Independent since the start of December... Katie Hopkins kicks Seagull off pier Katie Hopkins racist Ebola tweets Katie Hopkins claims Ant and Dec did worse Katie Hopkins calls Russell Brand a bully Yeah, they're lapping it up too.
  • A quick Google search under news would suggest otherwise. Articles by The Mirror, The Independent and the Telegraph to name but a few...
  • She's nothing but a mouthpiece. She has made a fortune by spouting horrible remarks (don't necessarily disagree with ALL she SAYS though) and the British media are lapping it up. Edit: Quoted the wrong post
  • You cannot spot reduce. Eat at a deficit and it'll come off all over. You might find it naturally falls off certain areas easier or quicker, but you cannot specifically target fat loss in only one area.
  • I happily go fully naked in the changing room area when I'm changing clothes as long as it's single sex. Definitely wear swimwear in the sauna!
  • I'm pretty new to weights and am using an app on Android called WorkIt (make sure it's all one word or it won't come up). You can create workout routines and choose the day/s on which you wish to do them. It also breaks it down into areas (shoulders, biceps, triceps, and so on) and gives little gif examples know how to do…
  • I've added you. My names Gemma Wright and I'm using gemma.wright1989@gmail.com if anyone else wishes to add me
  • I'm 5'1'' Started at 212 lb, got down to mid 180s, got diagnosed with coeliac disease, after months of honing my diet, am back up to the high 190s. Aiming for 140 lb, and see how I get on from there! My diary is open, I log daily regardless of whether or not I'll be going over (tonight being a prime example!) and…
  • I'm Gemma, I'm 25 from Glasgow, UK. Started at 212 lbs also with a desk job, got down into the mid 180s before a few health issues set me back and I'm now back up at around the 200ish mark. I was diagnosed with coeliac disease at the start of the year and been forced to made huge changes to my diet. Now that I'm…
  • I'm 24 and from Scotland. East coast originally, now in Glasgow! This is my second time on here. Didn't stick the first time, but now been on here for over 4 months and lost almost 2 stone. Would welcome any friends with decent banter :-)
  • New to the paleo way of thinking. Start tomorrow after several days research and getting myself ready for it. This is so helpful! Several items there I hadn't thought of.
  • Definitely look at iron intake. I've been taking an iron supplement and the difference in my energy levels is incredible!
  • I'm 5'1 and aiming for around 120. I'll reevaluate as I get closer. Currently 198, down from 211 :-) Feel free to add me. Would love some short friends!!
  • Yes! We're both on MFP and are both eating well and losing together :-)
  • I eat pretty much the same thing every day, only my snacks really change. I tend to log ahead and that lets me plan ever use too as I know what I have to burn :)
  • I had this a couple of weeks ago when I went for a 5 hour hike on my birthday to justify lots of food and champagne!!
  • I'm a 34D and swear by my USA Pro sports bra. I also wear a normal padded bra under it which I find helps them stay firmly in place no match how much I run and jump :-)
  • Fully aware that the BMI calculator is a generic tool that doesn't relate to all. My query wasn't about that...
  • I'm broad built with a massive shoulder span considering my height and know I'll never be VERY slim. I know the body fat thing on the electronic scales are pretty rubbish, I was curious more than anything :-) Didn't realise I'd lose fat and muscle; thought I'd lose fat and gain muscle if I'm weight training alongside the…
  • I've added snacks in too, didn't realise I could do that until I went searching :-)
  • I logged a few months back but kind of fell off the wagon. Today was my first day back logging for a while. Will be increasing my protein with shakes when I get back to going weight training. At the moment, exercise wise, I'm walking a total of about 3 miles a day (to work and back) plus some cardio at the gym (elliptical…
  • I tried my best but the image it still small and blurry. I've made my food diary public so people can peruse today's intake :-)
  • This is exactly the relationship I have with my partner. I'm in the mind-set where I am ready to do this and really meet my goals. Although he knows he can stand to lose a few pounds, he's not ready yet and as such, I won;y push him as I know how difficult it is when you're just not ready :)
