  • Depends....if you're using MFP exercise numbers...they tend to run high. So maybe 50 or 60%. if you're using a HRM so you're getting very accurate numbers, you can use all of them if you want to.

  • 1200 is the default minimum. I bet you told the program you want to lose 2 lb a week...yes? Change that to one or one and a half ...you'll get a more reasonable calorie allotment. I lost most of my weight eating over 1600... plus my exercise calories.
  • If you're under by that much you are not eating enough. Read the MFP FAQs....your deficit is probably not at healthy levels.
  • Of course. Just keep in mind that you're better off in the long run to eat mostly healthier food.
  • MFP sets you at a deficit..whether you exercise or not. If you exercise, you have increased your deficit...possibly to unhealthy levels. So onMFP you are expected and allowed and encouraged to eat back those calories. You're still at a deficit, not maintainance. Read the pinned threads about how this works for a more…
  • This. Pee pale and everythings ok.
  • for sandwiches and such I like the Sandwich thins buns...110 calories for the whole wheat ones, and they taste good. For toast I prefer a heartier bread, and don't pay any attention to calories if I'm only having one slice. If I'm feeling rich I'll buy some from the local bread bakery....everything they make is delish.
  • suspect you are not eating enough. this is kind of an *kitten*-backwards way to approach your goals.
  • youre not underweight. they are just not used to seeing you like this.
  • Ive become comfortable with the truth that I look and feel better...weighing about 20 lbs more than the "be a model size!" people would have me think I should weigh. I would be far too thin at that weight. I have about 4 to go yo get to my goal...and I'm in no hurry ..I am fine. Right here.
  • Don't worry about "clean" eating...its pretty much a meaningless overly broad concept. Eat good food, in measure amounts. You know which foods are better choices..fresh over processed, all that stuff. But eat food that satisfies you...you're not being punished, you're living your life! You can do this!
  • Protein is important, yes. But eating a balanced, nutritious diet is ultimately more important. Fats are not your enemy, and protein in huge amounts isn't necessarily your friend. Eat at a reasonable deficit, work out, both cardio and strength have a place. You can do this. Patience.
  • MFP intends for you to eat those burned calories back...because it has already built in a deficit when it sets your calorie goal. So yes...eat those calories. More food, more flexibility, and this makes it easier to stick to long term. It works.
  • use the MFP program as it was designed. All the information you need is there.
  • this. all the way. no need to reinvent the wheel...MFP will do this stuff for you, at least to get you started.
  • sounds ok....kinda boring...but ok. if its working for you, go for it.
  • Doesn't matter when you eat.. its totally up to you. Some people don't like to eat before bed because of indigestion or whatever, but other than that, eat what you like when you like....IIFYM. (If It Fits Your Macros) I like a big breakfast, and most evenings a snack. Do what works for YOU.
  • wow! that's an amazing change! You look younger...and happier! Congrats!
  • Unless you were really really working hard, that number sounds a bit high. I work pretty hard and burn about 10 cals a minute, roughly. I like the elliptical on days I don't walk outside. My gym has three different kinds...sometimes you have to try different machines to find one that fits your stride well. It does feel a…
  • Im a little taller than you, and weigh 161. My ultimate goal is about 158.
  • one at a time.... seriously...My Fitness Pal. makes it easy.
  • Haven't the faintest idea....I wouldn't try to follow something like that. they probably mean pasta and bread, but still....sometimes I have a bowl of cereal as a late night snack....
  • Pretty much enjoy your dinner without worrying about it too much. Red sauce probably a better choice than white, just go a little easy on the pasta. They might have a broiled chicken dish, or maybe fish, but if they don't, just do the best you can. What you can try is to get a to go container right at the beginning of the…
  • banana....delicious, nutritious, versatile, did I mention delicious..... I have one almost every day. Love em.

  • Don't diet. Live. Live a healthier lifestyle, making better choices as much as possible, and moving more...but a NORMAL life. Diets are temporary. Eat the way you will want to eat for the rest of your life.
  • tracking your food and then also how you feel afterwards would probably be really useful for you...I bet some correlations will jump out at you pretty quickly. Sorry you're having such a tough time of it.
  • A couple of days. I like them!
  • My current crave is the blackened salmon tacos at Sir Veza's. Side of black beans, please. They have a chipotle creme, and some veggies on them...so good! May have to go one night next week....
  • Ive heard....cannot prove but have heard....that those fat cells in that area sort of deflate as the fat goes away, and until they actually shrink (they don't go away totally, you're stuck with them) they're sort of like deflated balloons...so a bit squishy. Plus, there's now some firmer muscle underneath there, so you're…
  • Calorie counting isn't hard...a little tedious sometimes, but not hard. MFP makes it pretty easy, the database is huge. Just DO it, and it gets easier.
