Well, my fiance is as supportive as he can be, I guess. He's a bean pole, and is the type who has worked out maybe 5 times in the last year and still has a six pack. He eats whatever he wants, like pizza, donuts, etc. but does let me get all my veggies/fruits without complaining though, so that's nice (it has made our…

Yes, I track it all, even though sometimes I hate to. My first two days using MFP I had McDonald's (a huge cheeseburger, fries AND a shake! :blushing:) and as much as I hated to put it into my diary, I did it. I do have McD's occasionally, but I make sure I get small things and that I don't go over my calories. I think it…

I have a really hard time with the forward portion of the pendulum lunges, I feel like I can't keep my knee from going over my toe. I do all backward lunges instead since I feel I have better control. Maybe try that?

Hi there! :flowerforyou: Good to hear you're committed to losing the weight! MFP has really helped a lot with motivation, and there's an entire community of people doing what you're doing. Welcome and good luck!

I can't say I love a specific part of 30DS - but I love that she totally kicks your butt the entire time. I am almost done with level 2, but like a couple of you I also hated the side lunges with anterior raises in level 1. In level 2, I hate the chair squat and v-raise. Very difficult. It would probably help if I hadn't…

You look great - what a transformation!

I weigh in every two weeks - on Friday mornings.

It'll be fine...as long as you get right back on track tomorrow you're fine! I think letting yourself indulge once in awhile is a good thing. As an example, you're not going to eat only salad forever, right? When you get to your goal weight you're going to want to and probably will eat somethings like donuts once in…

Wow! What great successes!! Keep up the good work!

Great job!!

I think the "experts" make this claim because people generally are much less active in the evening - they think if you eat and are then inactive you will gain weight. Like other people have said, as long as you eat at a deficit you're good. I almost always have an evening snack and I've had no problem with weight loss so…

The Applebee's Paradise Chicken Salad is pretty good.

Agree with PPs. I think joining or not joining finances is totally up to you - my parents each have their own separate checking accounts AND a joint account. As someone else said, once married you share finances. Even if you have separate checking accounts "what's mine is yours and what's yours is mine" still stands - A…

I try to, some days it's more difficult to do so, other days (like yesterday) I can go over easily. 100% whole wheat toast with peanut butter and whole, natural almonds are my go-to snacks when I need to bump up my calorie intake for the day.

150. I'm only 5 feet tall and 150 is a lot for someone that short!
-
Hi all! I'm 5'0", goal is 110, at 129 right now (as of my weigh-in this morning)! I don't really care re: forum or group, whatever we need to do. Any other fit-and-fun-sized ladies (and gents!) feel free to add me.

I'm using 5-lb weights with 30 Day Shred.

You are my new favorite person! :flowerforyou: You look wonderful!!!! Great job!
-
This is exactly me. It's hard to get up the motivation because of fatigue (and just feeling fat because I'm bloated!), but I really do feel better once I'm done with my workout.
-
I completely understand. I began to have knee pain soon after starting 30DS as well...so I get what you mean. I have just swapped out the high-impact cardio (like the jumping jacks and butt kicks) for lower impact cardio I learned in my Tae Bo Cardio workout video. As long as you feel like you're working your muscles,…

I'm a grad student, and I need to be doing homework, but I usually want to work out instead. I wanted to work out this evening but had to finish up a paper - and now it's almost 11 p.m. and it's way too late for me to be exercising.

Popcorn, by far. Buttery, salty popcorn. Mmmm. A healthy food I LOVE is fresh pineapple. Not the canned stuff, but the fresh stuff. Also mmmmm.

I'm in! I have had some problems with knee pain lately, but I'm hoping doing squats rather than lunges (with proper form, of course!) will be easier on my knees. I've done many squats before with no problem. We shall see...
-
Hmm...really makes me wonder if I should stop doing it. I like how intense 30DS is, but I don't want to damage my knee doing it! This morning I tried to make my own circuit-training exercise with lower-impact cardio rather than jumping jacks and butt kicks and such. Maybe that's a new project for me to work on!

Is it that time of the month, maybe? Or perhaps you worked out harder yesterday or today? I wouldn't see why you couldn't have a little something extra to eat just as long as your calories for the week balance out. You could also try drinking a glass of water to make sure it's not thirst that's making you think you're…
-
Never. Like others have said, it's because I've eaten and drank fluids, which adds to body weight. That's why you always weigh in first thing in the morning (or at least stick to a routine of when you weigh in so the circumstances are the same).
-
Thank you, and thanks for the tip! I'll try them! I agree re: knee pain killing motivation. I haven't gotten a really intense workout other than 30DS in a week and it's driving me bananas!
-
I've thought about doing both things (getting a brace and seeing a doc). I'll try the brace first. It's just frustrating, because this is the first time in years that I've actually been motivated to work out, and now I'm having knee pain. No fair.
-
I guess, it feels like joint pain. I'll try that - thanks!
