Thanks Ro - people are very sensitive to this as we're a society raised on "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" so it's nice to hear not everyone is against actually eating when hungry. I was hungry this morning and had a good breakfast.

Thanks for your comments. I generally don't eat a great deal of processed foods and I don't add salt to my meals as a rule of thumb. From my iPad app it looks like tmy sodium is well under every week... I am currently following a 5:2 diet which suggests that no harm is done by intermittant fasting, in fact there are a lot…

Thanks Chris you've given me consistantly good advice on here and your comments are backed up by everything I am currently reading up on with relation to IF. My last diet break was a week over the summer when I went on holiday. I do think I've probably affected my metabolism over the years as a serial yo-yo dieter but I am…

It's worth noting that i am down from 200+lbs originally

I am doing 5:2 yes :) I eat when I'm hungry - not when a clock dictates On a weekend I do skip meals if I know I'm going out to ensure I can still stick to my goals but enjoy myself socially. I'm shocked at the protein comments as I eat eggs, cottage cheese, turkey and Greek yogurt daily... Thanks for the comments though :)
-
That's weird - my diary always shows I've gone over protein...

Ooops! Try now.

I know - i was terrified when i went in - I had never imagined i'd buy Levis!!!

Thanks guys! Still needed the 'bold curve' cut for my curves so I'm glad I havent lost those along this journey
-
I'm in the same boat - tips please :)

Thanks for the advice! Not sure if I could work out in a fasted state.... I am feeling ok when doing nothing but when I'm running around I feel a little light headed... Perhaps I need to up my Calorie intake on eat days??

Hi! If you google BBC Horizon Eat, live, fast you will find it on BBC iPlayer.

This is very good advice - my feelings were that i've worked so hard 1 biscuit is fine, then once i'd had one old feelings kicked in. I gorged but the way I felt after was so bad that I wont be doing it again. It's actually lead me down a different path and I'm actually looking now at the IF 16/8 so its not all bad x

I LOVE this post! thank you :)
-
Good luck with this - it's hard

Oooh I like this!

I gave the rest to my husband to take to work as I knew I'd eat the rest if they stayed! Next time I will have to politely decline the gift - I know it would happen again!

Great advice but a hard habit to break on the guilt front

I completely believe in BED. Things that trigger my binges are crisps, biscuits, pizza and ice cream. Basically things that come in large portions. Once I start on these foods, I don't stop until they are gone. Then I feel sick, miserable and ashamed. My only way to avoid these is to not have these foods in the house, then…

Normally I would have given up and it would have set me back months, but now I'm on MFP and have all of you advising, agreeing, helping it feels so much easier to just think 'what's done is done, now get back on it!' Thanks everyone :) xx

It just makes you realise that we're all experiencing similar things! If anyone wants to add me please do :)

Thanks for all of these comments - after a good nights sleep I do feel like it's not as bad as it seems - I can spend the next few days making things right and getting my diary back on track for this week. My plan is a total clean day today. Lots of water and green tea! The glory is that even after a bad day, I look a…

Thanks Slimsdown - I will have that excess intake burnt off before the weekend!! It's just so irritating when you let yourself down!
-
Thank you - it's just been such a long time since I gave in to a binge session. There are biscuits at work all the time and resist them - I'm just so disappointed in myself.
-
Ah I've had the exact same thing! I went from 195lbs to now 157lbs wanting to get into the 140's but my husband and best friend keep saying "that's enough now" "you look ill" "any thinner and it won't suit you" I'm only just under the 'overweight' BMI so how can what i'm doing be wrong? And it's been over 4 years - hardly…

Totally agree with this - i posted a topic about it but got pretty much slated and told I was buying 'fancy food'!!

As much as I wouldn't go back, I miss carefree eating. I miss partying and I miss not weighing myself. BUT.... I love going shopping and not crying in the changing rooms because clothes wouldn't fit I love that people do a double take and say 'Wow you look great' when they really mean 'You aren't fat anymore!?' I love…

I have limited my bread to just around breakfast time and have 1 slice of wholemeal bread with 1 poached egg. I find this fills me until late morning. other breakfast favourites are porridge & blueberries, cottage cheese and ryvita or some healthy bacon with poached egg.
