I'm interested in hearing what people have to say too!

There are huge numbers of legitimately free books - anything out of copyright dates for example, and loss leaders, ie the first one of a series which you then get addicted to and buy the rest. I have mostly free or less than £1 books all purchase legitimately via Amazon. Anyway - what's wrong with reading free books? Most…

I use ismoothrun which is great app - not free and only available for the iPhone, but absolutely fantastic!

I'm a qualified Librarian, and I NEVER thought I would say this, but I love my Kindle! I read loads of books on it but, I still have to buy books by my favourite authors in 'proper' book form, because I like to see them on the shelves and it's a different kind of reading experience. The kindle is great for the chick lit…

Definitely! Once I got comfortable in a size, I went out and bought the next size jeans down to motivate myself! I always have a couple of tops and a pair of jeans to try on to see my progress until they fit :) if you can afford to buy clothes in advance it's a great motivator! Also - once I'm safely in the new size I get…

I got all excited about this, but my nearest puregym is 3 hours away :( I bought some cheap weights from Argos, and Sports Direct had some in the sales recently - but really you use anything as previous posters have said :)

Well said!

Maybe not, but it gives context and weight to our opinions on why they are not a bad thing, which is after all what the discussion here is supposed about.

Btw it's 9pm here - my children are in bed upstairs for the night!
-
I have two children, the first one never needed that extra 'leash' as you call it - talk about using emotive language! My second child, however has Down Syndrome and, I'm sorry but you can't say that any of her tendency to wander off etc was due to poor parenting on our part. Some children are harder to 'train' than…

But, of course :)

absolutely classic! Loved the bit with James Bond and the Queen - and of course Mr Bean - a great job all round!

As the above poster said, fresh unprocessed foods are your best bet. Also, drink plenty of water too :)
-
I haven't given up any foods altogether, but I have given up eating them ON MY OWN - so, I can have crisps, ice cream etc with someone else because that ensures I only have a sensible amount but I don't yet trust myself completely alone with them, lol!

This is great - I love it!

It really depends on whether you're talking US or UK sizing here! I'm 5'7 1/2" and weigh 163lb at the moment, and I've been a size 14 since I was about 175lb. That's in UK sizes, and as previous posters have said it depends on your build.

Hi - I've found that drinking water does help my weight loss, and it is really hard sometimes to drink enough in a day! One thing I do is put a little (about 50ml) fruit juice in w glass and then fill to the top with water which helps the water go down. Also, instead of trying to down full glasses you could try and fill a…

Below the national average, above the global average...but what was really astounding is that in January I was like the average woman of my age in Samoa, now it's Sierra Leone. Big change :)
