Congrats! As others have said, you should be very proud of your success thus far. Go ahead and scream it from the mountain top - you deserve it!

An even easier way to cook a spaghetti squash is to poke it several times with a knife or a meat fork (being sure to get to the center of the squash), and then microwave it whole. Once its cooked, its much easier to cut in half and scoop out the seeds.

This is technically a desert, but I love it for breakfast - it has carbs, but they are relatively low. PUMPKIN BAKE 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 5 eggs 1/2 cup granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda 15 ounce can pumpkin 1 1/2 teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla Put the cream cheese…

Sorry - I heven't been keeping up on this board! Two great sources for lower cost snacks are http://www.familybariatric.com/store/ - they generally have the lowest price, and http://www.dietdirect.com/wonderslim-weight-loss-products-82.html, who offers free shipping.

I'm currently doing this and am having great success. Yes, there are pills involved, but most people only take a vitamin and an Omega complex. The other things they want you to take (but don't force you to take) are a carb blocker and herbs that are supposed to rev up your metabolism. I like the fact that you meet with a…

I do this for taco salads since giving up sour cream.

How about gyros? I think the original recipe said to use ground beef, ground lamb, or a combo of the two. I always just use ground beef. These are great for something a little different. Beef Gyro • 1 lb lean ground beef • 2 cloves garlic (crushed) • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano (crushed) • 1 teaspoon onion powder • 1…

msh - the original recipe said you could use pumpkin instead of banana if you want. No amount was given , so you would need to eyeball 2 banana's worth!

Bear with me - I know this sounds weird, but I've found that the best marinade for chicken breast is apple cider vinegar. Once upon a time I had an actual recipe for this, but I can't find it anymore. What I do now is take about 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar, about 2 tablespoone of olive oil, about 1 tablespoon of light…

I've tried the Walden Farms BBQ sauce and the peanut butter. Threw both out and have decided I can live without any of their products!

If you are eating low carb, I highly recommend Linda's low carb recipe collection at http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/updates6.html This is not a commercial website, but rather a personal website with Linda's review of each recipe.

LOL, I've wondered that myself. There is a Dominos right next to my gym and I see the sign advertising the bread bowl pasta nearly every day. The nutritional info for that item is not listed on their website. I agree with Codykitty - heart attack on a plate, or in this case, heart attack in its own edible bread bowl.

I found this recipe on recipezaar and gave it a try this weelend. It was great, and I will absolutely be making it again. I servied it over brown rice with a side of steamed green beans. Mmmmm. Authentic Indian Chicken Curry Makes 6 servings Ingredients 1-1 1/4 lb of cubed chicken tenders 4 tablespoons olive oil (I only…

Kidney beans are not really low carb. What about adding more veggies or else adding a diced up cooked chicken breast?

You must be further south than me - my rhubarb is only about 2 inches tall! Here are a couple recipes from eating well Rhubarb Tart Makes 8 servings ACTIVE TIME: 40 minutes TOTAL TIME: 2 1/4 hours EASE OF PREPARATION: Easy Filling 9 cups (about 3 pounds) finely diced rhubarb (1/4-inch dice), divided 1 1/4 cups sugar 2…

Hmmm, I might modify this recipe by using sausage instead of the pork (probably Hillshire Farms light), add some Franks Red Hot, then serve the rice and beans over brown rice. Mmmmm.

Not that there's anything wrong with vegetarien, but I bet some chicken in here would be awesome!

I bought Walden Farms peanut flavor spread. No calories, no fat, no nothing. It was about the worst thing I ever tried. Big waste of about $4.

I made it as a side dish. This stuff is filling. I can't imagine eating a 2 cup portion of it! I think we have already eaten a total of 4 servings at our house - 8 to go!

This comes from Guy Fieri at the FoodNetwork - he called it 4 Bean Relish and I believe he said it was 4 servings. I don't know who would eat servings that size - I made it this weekend and it's great. For me, it makes 12 heaping half-cup servings, but should last a while. I've posted the original recipe, but I made a few…

Ok, here's a dumb question. What are you looking at to determine if you are obse or overweight? I know without looking which category I'm in, but wondering how long before I can be the other category. Thanks.

I found this on recipezaar and made it over the weekend. I twas fantastic and pretty low in calories, especially considering it is somewhat breaded and an fried. Ingredients • 4 4 oz boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to about 1/3-inch thickness) • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard • 2 eggs • 1 cup dry breadcrumbs • 1/4…

I make my own taco seasoning mix. The basic recipe for 1 pound of meat is as follows (just add thsi plus about 1/2 cup of water), but you can change it up depending on what you like. I generally use a little more red pepper in mine, and sometimes I use chipotle chili powder instead or regular. 2 teaspoons instant onion,…

Thanks Ian - that sounds like a great recipe.

I made this one day last week and we thougth it was great, and it can't get much easier. The following is how the recipe was written. Next time, I would leave out the olive oil (not sure why its there) and maybe increase the carrots. Nutrition information came directly from recipezaar, so you may need to tweek that a…
