I'm sorry! I should choose my words better. Many granolas are loaded with sugar and/or oils to make them taste good - those aren't really healthy.

Bob is hot, especially with his glasses.... but... GO TEAM JILLIAN!!!!

Thanks for being supportive and helpful! :frown: Not everyone can eat as much as they want, which is why they're on this website to begin with. I'm so sick of seeing judgey and rude people on these message boards when the people who post need encouragement and support.

Unfortunately, foods that we are made to believe are healthy (i.e. granola) really aren't. It stinks! If you tweak your menu you'll find it's doable. It takes extra time at first to plan out what you're going to eat but you'll catch on! Hang in there!

I used to do this! Obviously I knew it was wrong, but I couldn't stop myself.

Me too. I'm usually 1200-1300 calories/day and I exercise most days and I've lost 6 pounds.

If you like coffee, drink it. I don't think it hurts weight loss efforts. It's what you put in it that counts! I recently switched from cream/sugar to frothy skim milk. Cut back on a lot of calories that add up over time.

You're not alone! I used to be a pro at playing that game, but I always "fell off the wagon" because I wasn't being honest with myself. My advice would be to be honest with your loggings. As you said, you're still below your goal and you'll feel better about your progress.

I'm 5'5" and am doing OK with 1200. It was hard at first and I was super hungry, but I think my body needed to adjust to eating lest because I had been eating so poorly for so long. I eat three meals, each around 300 or so calories, then snacks on top of it. I do Zumba 5 times a week and I walk to work (3 mile round trip)…

I always snack, too! Now, when I pack my lunch, I automatically pack a morning and afternoon snack. I think it keeps your blood sugar levels in check. The key is to stick to the recommended portion sizes to stay within your calorie goal. I usually always eat apple slices in the morning. If you need a little extra you can…

Me too!!!! Weekends were always a free for all for me but I got through it easier than I expected. Phew!

I asked my doctor and she said to aim for 1200 calories, even if I exercise. If I'm hungry, I eat, but I don't force myself to eat exercise calories just to do it. I trust her!

I read a book by Geneen Roth (Why Weight) that is like a workbook to help you get in a good place regarding bingeing. It helps you to learn why you binge and what to do about it. Now that I know the "whys" I feel like I can take better steps to prevent it. Try meditating, journaling, going for a walk, drinking a glass of…

I have the same problem. I'm trying to eat normal portions but I feel so hungry so often. I've read that your appetite adjust after time, which makes sense. I've been stuffing myself silly for the past year and a half so my body has adjusted to allow for that intake. I just hope it doesn't take along time to get back to…

I eat carbs and I still feel incredibly tired after lunch - like I could crawl under my desk and take a nap. I walk to work in the morning and usually work out at the gym on my way home.

Is it too late to join? I can post my stats tonight.

The Mayo Clinic has a GREAT guide for portions: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/portion-control/NU00267. I printed it out and hung it on my fridge. After awhile, you get used to measuring or eyeballing things. For crackers and pretzels (or anything like that), I literally count out the exact number for a serving size. I…
