I'll invest in a pair of running shoes and give it another shot. I'm still not sure if I overdid it or not, but I found a "beginners" running program that I'm going to try.

I didn't have a gait analysis. I went to a shoe store later that day (after I left work) and picked the trail shoe that I felt fit the best. I'm not sure what the closest place would be that actually does a gait analysis.

You're absolutely right about the planning part. I was going to try to cook in large quantities, but I am conscious of the idea that I could run out of variety, which is part of why my last attempt didn't work out so well. There's only so many whole wheat tuna sandwiches a man can eat.

I've tried "counting calories" and "portion control" before but I always seemed to lose sight of my goal. I eat there maybe twice a month or so. Maybe it's true you could make a healthier sandwich at home for less money, but I guess it really depends on the circumstances at the moment. Subway is better for you than other fast food (no doubt about it). I'm a fan of the buffalo chicken, but will probably switch to turkey or tuna…

Being a few centimeters short of 6'2", the most I weighed was 262 (I was around 254 when I created a MFP account). It's probably not so bad, but the one thing that really got me was how out of shape I was. I'm currently down to around 246.
