  • "Mom! There is no one else I trust with Lola except you! I NEED YOU to be with her and take care of her while I am in Labor! She needs her grandma!" something like that should work! :)

  • I'm SO sorry for what you are going through! What state do you live in? Have you looked into disability benefits to cover at least a portion of your salary? I've had to leave 2 different jobs (both in child advocacy non profits ironically!) because of "work life balance" issues related to my daughter--and I don't regret it…
  • Due in early January! Last time I gained 22-24 lbs because I was nauseated a lot (only time in my life I had trouble gaining weight!!) this time I am crazy hungry, so hoping I don't gain too much!
  • That woman clearly has her own body issues and that she is trying to project on you! You keep growing that baby and taking care of yourself! My first pregnancy I was "outted" by *****y co-workers very early in the 1st trimester and it made me SO MAD--this time (different work place) I plan to hide it until I am 15-20 weeks…
  • Don't listen to your friend. Listen to your doctor and your own body. Everyone has a set point--when I drop below mine I feel sick. Keep exercising and eating right and you will find out what works best for your body.
  • I'm still in the first trimester and so I am incredibly sleepy and tired all of the time! Because of this tiredness I have cut back from 6 days a week (3 days bootcamp style, 1 day yoga, 1 day walking 2 miles) to 4-5 days per week (kept yoga and walk, cutting portions of bootcamp). I just feel like I have zero stamina even…
  • I workout at 6am almsot every day. I can't stomach a lot of food that early, so I usually have 1/2 to 3/4 of a banana right before the workout--to give me the energy to push through the workout and give it my all. If you can workout on a totally empty stomach thats fine, but if you think you are getting fatigued 1/2 way…
  • I was all about a fully "natural" pregnancy the first time--didn't expose myself to strange chemicals (nail polishes, hair colors, etc.), ate super healthy, exercised, and was determined to have a drug free birth. My husband and I took a bunch of birthing classes too. About 2 weeks before I went on maternity leave, we had…

  • Kalyrra, maybe I am doing something wrong? I used the calculator that you sent the link to--it told me I need to eat more than 1900 calories a day in the 1st trimester! That is a LOT! I am struggling to eat 1600 because of the 1st trimester nausea.
  • I'm 6 weeks along and set it to maintainance. It is making me eat 1600 calories a day--which is super hard for me because of the nausea. I am 5'5 and 127 and workout 4-5 days per week. I'm also vegetarian and try to eat healthy. Last pregnancy I had a ROUGH time gaining weight and finally gained a total of 23 lbs by week…
  • I would be concerned at the lack of vegetables in your diet. You need salad or cooked greens in there--both for fiber and for nutrients. Maybe add in a smoothie with kale or spinach to breakfast? Or add some grilled veggies to your lunch?
  • Yup! Raised vegetarian for religious reasons--and as an adult I came to understand the environmental and physical health implications of eating a diet high in meat. While I agree that "preachy" vegetarians and vegans are annoying, I don't think that "health nuts" are necessarily preachy.
  • You can look up workouts online and do them in your own home-- I think one of them is called FitTV. In the winter I do 1-4 10 minute workout videos.
  • I like "infused" water--the night before add mint, berries, cucumber, ginger, etc. to your water and let it soak overnight..it gives the slightly hint of flavor without all those calories.
  • I would go for a power walk (to "earn" some more calories for the day) and then have some water and see if I am still hungry 20 minutes later. If so, have some crunchy veggies (salad?). Also, I agree with someone else's post--what really matters is your calories in and burned for the week, not necessarily 1 day. Good luck!
  • Eating off my daughter's plate is something I struggled with too!! It is not easy to say "ok--I will throw the rest of her food away"
  • I am vegetarian too. I get my protein from lentils (lentil soup is a good option in the winter) and greek yogurt--I like chobani and fage (be careful because some greek yogurts are very high in fat).
