slices frozen banana in the food processor with some almond milk, maybe add strawberries, or some cocoa powder/peanut butter/walnuts. Makes a big bowl of low fat/low cal ice cream. I also do it with any frozen fruits that I have on hand. YUM

I only take water if it is hot. I put my keys under a plant pot so don't carry them with me. I take my phone in an arm band for mapmyrun, and headphones, sticking the ipod in my bra (because I don't have any pockets). Some day I will work out how to put music on my phone so as to cut out the ipod. Good idea on the id -…

looks good - may give this a go later today.

I am stressed lately and and wanting to eat, so what I do is: -drink loads of water - if I feel hungry when I shouldn't be I drink a pint of water and make an herbal (decaf) tea to see if that helps -exercise to releive stress - this helps me work out nervous energy and stress, particularly something hard, like running -if…

6.2 miles today - first run in 3 weeks due to achilles pain. Still not 100% but improving. Taking 5 days off all exercise except walking so hopefully back to it in a week. Due to the injury definitely didn't meet my target of 50 miles. Sad about that, but still ran a great 10k today, which was nice.

bump - anyone?

It's been a great week here in the UK - 20+ degrees and sunny every day. Back to cold and grey from tomorrow. Oh well!

I'm awake, but it is 7:50am here in the UK. Need to get ready for work soon, even though it is really nice weather today.

I am an american living in the UK - since I moved here ten years ago I put on 40-50lbs! FINALLY am sorting it out and 10lbs away from my current goal weight. It's hard hearing about all the nice foods that people seem to be getting for cheap in america and not having the options here. oh well. iTswape - My SO is from…

This may be cnotroversial, but as a cyclist who has hit a dog, I think dogs should be kept on a lead unless there are somewhere enclosed, like a dog park, or well trained enough to not run off, particularlly after wheeled things. I am not saying that your dog ran in front of the cyclist, and it sounds like the cyclist…

I live in a turkish neighbourhood, so there are loads of places with grilled chicken and lamb with salad, rice and bread for about £6. If you lay off the bread (or have in moderation), it is pretty healthy.

Feel free to add me, I also live in London. I am doing a 10k in Richmond Park on Saturday, and do bootcamp in Russell Sq M, W, F (today it was a lot of boxing!) I would say that I have stopped logging my food, but am around most days to give and receive encouraement.

Sweet and Sour Eggplant, Tomatoes and Chickpeas This Lebanese dish is all about summer. Pomegranate molasses makes it both sweet and sour; you can find it in Middle Eastern markets. Serve the dish as a starter, a side or a main dish with grains. 1 large eggplant (1 1/4 to 1 1/2 pounds), halved lengthwise then cut in…

The thing that will make you feel worse is losing control of your eating and drinking - although you can't control the situations of others, you can control how you respond to it. I agree with those who say to change it this minute. Don't wait until the end of the day. Drink LOADS of water to help re-hydrate after…

Another good pre-workout snack is a peice of toast with peanut butter. mmmm

Rather than fight the urge for snacking or eating when stressed I make sure to find healthy things to eat rather than rubbish - I might go over my calories but it is WAY better than what I would have done before. Now, if I am craving something sweet I will blend up some frozen fruit - bananas, papaya, mango, whatever I…

I eat about an hour before I workout in the morning, but if I don't have time for that, I make sure to eat something small, like a half banana, to make sure I have something before working out and then have something bigger after.

Thanks for all the info here!

I live in London and cycle to and from work every day - it's about 10k each direction. I LOVE it. I put it off for ages because I was afraid of cycling in the city, but then went for it as a way to save money (my bike cost £350, and my monthly transport cost $130, so it didn't take long to start making big savings). My…

Also, I love to add eggs to fried rice, stir fries, and noodles. I just made a very quick pad thai as follows: mix up 1 egg and two egg whites heat oil in wok and add eggs and either scramble or make into a flat omelette and then set aside (and slice into chunks if omelette) sautee leek, garlic, brocolli, mushroom, soybean…

Get a non-stick muffin tin that has 12 cups. 6 whole eggs 6 egg whites (or whatever proportion of eggs/egg whites you want) Mix them up Find some "filling" that you like, whether sauteed veg (spinach and mushroom is good), or chopped up meat (like lunchmeat), or cheese, or a combo of them. Spray the muffin tin with oil.…

I am definitely down for a fail this month - achilles pain is keeping me from running, can't train for 10k at the end of the month. Will still have a go at the in two weeks - my time can't be any worse than my last one (78mins!).

I lost 15lbs in 3 months before finding MFP just by healthy eating and exercising, then found MFP and started tracking and continued losing at the same rate of 5 lbs a month (no more or less than I was losing before). I logged everything for 2 months and started to feel too much of a slave to counting and have taken a week…

I love making my own yoghurt. You can make it thicker by two ways: 1. strain the whey out with a cheese cloth - rather than getting rid of the whey, you can keep it and use it for loads of different things, from putting it in a shake, using it as liquid in batters like for pancakes or baking, to using it as a facial toner…
