There are plenty of great workouts for weight lifting. My favourites are Jim Stoppani's Shortcut to SIze and Shortcut to Shred. He provides a full workout program as well as videos with tips for each workout and a full nutrition and supplementation plan. Here are the links, .…

I used runtastic, but have switched to garmin 110 about a year ago. The garmin 110 is more accurate than any mobile phone apps, plus the benefit of a heart rate monitor allows for better calorie tracking.

Racing flats would be just fine, the main point with minimalist running is removing as much of the cushioning as possible. I myself have a natural forefoot strike and never had a problem in transitioning into running barefooted, only ever running in shoes with very little cushioning anyway.

I had the same issue for about 4 months with no movement on the weight loss. I started to exercise more intensely and even put up my calories for a few weeks, but nothing happened. (Keep in mind that if you exercise your muscle more intensely than usual your sore muscle will retain more water) The scales have started to…

Just about to start my first week after the week break in the middle. It's hard work but worth the results, there were days when I wonder why I started but I have seen fantastic results in my overall fitness. I'm not losing much weight at the moment (the scales have just started to move very slowly again after stopping for…

Hello, I'm from Teesside. Been using MFP for almost 20 months lost 16kg, run up to six times a week and am half way through Insanity. Would be nice to add more Northerners to my friends on here, so anyone please feel free to add me to their friends list.

I totally agree here, landing on your heel means that you are transferring the impact through your entire leg and all your joints are absorbing the force. Shortening your stride and ensuring that you knee is slightly bent will improve the situation and allow your feet to act as they should and dissipate the impacts. Also…

I would concentrate on correct running form first, if you run correctly you may have no need for artificial support.

Hi, feel free to add me. More runners on my friend list would be nice too. Been running for almost a year, I run up to 6 times a week at 5-10k distances.

I log daily so feel free to add me ; )

I recently started using a HRM and found that the calories calculated where almost the same when MFP guessed. The only way to know for sure is by experimenting, if you continue to lose weight while eating back your exercise calories then that's OK in my book

I aimed for the middle of the healthy weight range based on my age, height and skeletal frame.

It depends on what your sleeping issue is? For me the problems is I can fall asleep straight to sleep, however, 3-4 hours later I will wake and spend 1 or 2 hours (if i was lucky) trying to sleep again. My solution was firstly, I read that taking a magnesium and calcium supplement can improve sleep quality, which I now…

I herniated a disc and when i went for a MRI the disc next to that one could also go at any time so i decided that once I'd recovered I would start to lose the lard.
