  • I thought this was an interesting question, with some interesting answers, so I googled it a bit: http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/nutrition/healthy-eating/top-7-vegetables-high-in-fiber.html this list has more then 7 things: http://kitchen-parade-veggieventure.blogspot.ca/2008/02/high-fiber-low-fiber-vegetables.html
  • it's the best price for coconut oil around here to. i also buy cocoa and maple syrup there. not sure if there prices are the best, but i go through a lot, probably to much of those two things.
  • to keep your avacados (and guacamole) from going brown, wrap it TIGHT in plastic wrap (glad/saran) It's oxygen that turns it brown, like and apple. You can store it in a ziplock bag to, if you suck all the air out.
  • depending what the sugar is from, it can be considered paleo. It doesn't have dairy, soy, or grains, and those are the main things. what you want is high %, 85 or more, and the least amount of ingredients. i enjoy lindt excellent for a treat sometimes. It's got brown sugar, but not a lot else.
  • the new ones are better then the last few jordan wrote. you should give them a go. I've always been a big Robert Jordan fan. but these books got really slow, and meandering towards the end. Sanderson is doing a great job keeping the characters the same, but getting to the point a lot better. I really enjoyed the last one…
  • i'd check out the paleo/ primal support group. those are 2 of the main components of that lifestyle. There are lots of good recipes there.
  • looking at your diary, I don't really see "primal" eating... your eating oats, grains, and a lot of processed food. I can only imagine the sodium in the hamburger helper, that alone will make you retain water like crazy.
  • I made her birthday cupcakes, they were soooo good. Love her blog and recipes!
  • i peaked at your profile and see you have a history of eating disorders, I think that 133 or event 140-150 would be a much healthier weight for you then 125, that puts you well into the "Under weight" category of BMI and while BMI is not the most accurate measure, It's not horrible as a basic guideline and judging by your…
  • yea, if she's not eating paleo to lose weight she can get away with more fruit and potatoes, i would stick primarily to sweat potatoes though, avacados, nuts, coconut oil, and other food high in healthy fat should help keep the calories up and they all stay good for quite a while, so you don't have to go out and buy them…
  • I don't do cross country, but i compete in jiu jitsu tournaments. It will take a bit of time to figure out when the best times to eat before hard training is for optimal fueling and whatnot, but she should be fine. I think for her, the key will be to make sure she's getting more carbs then a lot of people will sale is…
  • it's been 5 weeks, i think, maybe 6? I lost 6lbs in the first week, then gain a couple back, then lost them again. I've lost 2% body fat according to my scale. I've been sleeping 10000% better then i used to and I have't had a migraine since I started, and i used to get them quite regularly.
  • i had a peek at your diary, that is a LOT of avacado. they aren't very big, but are packed in calories and fat. which is fine. but your stomach is probably used to getting lots of filler which it isn't anymore. Give it a few more days for your body to adjust to the different sizes of things that it's getting and i think…
  • i haven't been able to find any flakes anywhere around here. shredded yes, sweetened and unsweetened, and at goodness me i found chunks but they were full of sugar.
  • Welcome! I'm relatively new to the whole paleo thing (just under 5 weeks). but for me, the most important thing has been preparedness. I spend a couple hours every sunday making my lunches and a few dinners for the week. Cooking up meat and vegetables in various ways, putting it in containers and into the freezer. I also…
  • I made some spaghetti for dinner tonight! i microwaved the squash, first i cut it the wrong way, and didn't nuke it long enough, but i figured it out in the end. i just used a generic can of "blue label" or whatever generic low sodium sauce, with a bag of frozen veggies for the sauce. mmmmmmmmmmm
  • i used to leg press 3 sets of 12 at 500lbs. i'm 5'10. that being said, i pretty much blew my knees out doing that, so i wouldn't really recommend it. you might need to adjust the angles or something.
  • to me, 5'7 is normal, but that is b/c i am 5'10 and most of my family is around the same or taller.
  • welcome to the group! I usually have some eggs, or zucchini loaf and bullet proof coffee (minus the butter, i'm doing dairy free) for breakfast. Sometimes i scramble, them, sometimes it's a crustless quiche, sometimes fried.
  • I've had pad thai 3x since i started eating paleo. it was delish every time and will probably be my go-to cheat meal.
  • hahah, that's some funny stuff.
  • I've been doing the paleo thing for 4 weeks now. I cheat a bit, having pad thai (still glutten free). But i've been very strict on the no dairy, no glutten and i feel pretty good. I have been doing some baking, using maple syrup and honey as sweetener instead of sugar and I have avoided pretty much everything that comes…
  • but it is primal, from what i've read.
  • I've been eating paleo for almost 4 weeks now. I've got more energy, am sleeping better and generally feel more well. The first week was a bit rough, because my body wanted crap. It's like breaking any addiction. Despite what a lot of people hear are saying. it is sustainable. Like everything else, you have to find a…
  • parties are rough! I would recommend having a good meal before you head to the parties, so it will be easier to say no to the junk food. bring along a side/ appetizer that is primal / paleo and don't worry to much about it :)
  • i'm currently addicted to XCOM: Enemy Unknown. But it's making me mad. Why do the aliens always have better aim then my guys?
  • man that is rough. I never spar without my custom fit mouth guard.

  • huh, interesting i always thought it was a grain but it's a seed! why is it on this list of things to avoid then? I would bring one of the a billion amazing dessert things off of paleomg.com. It'll impress people, especially when they find out it's "healthy"
