I don't object to random punters carrying the torch. It's the Z list celebs I have the real problem with. Who picked these idiots!!!! It makes me angry. That and the Team GB football team full of just the English and Welsh, and no Beckam (who got them the Olympics)!

Go put on your heart-rate monitor and find out. When I do it I sing a song "bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy- la la la la la" I can get my heart rate up over 140 on a good day.

I have started to ice up after my runs now. Then again a couple of hrs later. Muscles are still sore though :(

I would love to run with my dog but he broke his leg a couple of years ago and he has limped a bit since then. I hope you can find a way to go out with yours. I do have a neghbour who runs with his spaniel. He has this big long rubber lead thing. The dog is full of beans but he seems to understand he has to run in a…

I'm training for a 10k so count me in. Don't think I will get the full 100 as I don't log my dog walks. Hope to get to 80 First time doing anything like this so will see how it goes. 1/7 = 4miles running

Well done. That is a fantastic time considering what you have went through in the last few months. Thanks for posting and the inspiration.

Correct. Cmoan the Scotland

Yes you can. I have been off it since 2nd Jan. I now drink water with a splash of fresh lime juice and ice. It's fantastic!

I was "fitted" today for my first running shoe. I guess I will find out how they are over the next couple of weeks when I am doing 5k runs in them. I think you are right. You just know when you get the right shoe. Can't believe I have been running in old cluncky gym shoes for the last few weeks. :grumble:

I feel your pain. I strained my adductor muscle on my third run. It is still a bit burning/tight but I put arnica gell on it and try to keep stretching it out. It's not sore enough to make me stop. I went to see my doctor and she suggested rest and to get back into it slowly. She also suggested I see a physio if it…

Stick with the trainer you have. You are getting results. They are qualified. You must keep going! If some random person came up to me and complained like that I would raise it with the trainer.

I wear compression shorts. Stops the rub

It makes you look like a WINNER!!!!

Have you washed the strap? Might be worth a try. Remember you need to disconnect the "black device" from the strap after you finish using it. If not it will probably be a battery.

Go for a walk. This burns cals. I lost most of my weight through diet anyway. Have you thought about an excersise bike? You can probably pick up a 2nd hand one easily!

I gave up 6 months ago (except for 2 days). It made a huge difference to me. I think after a week the habit of going to get a drink just stops.

Reading this makes me glad I live in Scotland. We don't have guns. I'm all for risk reduction but if I had to carry a weapon to run I would just go to a gym and do it inside. I'm so sorry for anyone who has to do this. :frown:

I got one of these Bridge 2 10k programs. It is the hardest run I have done  I even managed to increase speed to 6mph. That was hard!
-
WOW!!!!
-
That's huge! You planning on the 26 next?
-
That's fantastic. Keep going!

The One Hour Runner looks PERFECT!!!! Thanks for that. I love that you only do the big distance once a week with shorter runs the rest of the week.
-
Thanks for all taking the time to reply. I'll just stick to increasing the time I run at in increments untill I can hit the 60 min mark. MFP is great for tracking these things as I can put it in as a note. Completing the distance is my short-term goal, not the speed I do it in. I got an injury when I did a high speed run…

Just done my run. I can only go at 5mph. That is a very fast time you are doing.
-
Well done. (thanks for the reminder and I'm off for a run NOW!!!)
-
Well done!!!! You ROCK!!!:drinker:

I have the FT7. Works for me :)

Thanks for all the great pictures and all the fur-babies that are re-homed.

Yes. After I did a warm up walk then a 35 min run and a cool down walk I thought I still had something in the tank so I pushed for a strong end and did a 3 min hard run. I think this is when I must have damaged it. What I SHOULD have done is just went for 35min at normal pace for another couple of weeks. It brings new…
