  • Same. Lost it over 9 months. Held it for 6. Put it all back on dealing with life. Strange thing is I always do well just by coming in here and knowing I have to record my weight.
  • Well done!!!! Keep going and stay injury free Not done a parkrun for over a year which I should really fix now I am back running. That's an impressive time
  • I was aware yes Brian. Perth, Scotland only had about 1300 this year which is quite a drop from last year. There were people from Perth Canada at the event so I'm sure they encourage the competition.
  • Well done. Congratulations on achieving this. When is your next one?
  • I did the Parkrun today as well. It was SOOO HOT. Still managed a PB of 27:03 and was 143rd It's my second parkrun and I do all my training on a TM. There was over 200 at my event today. Loads of people were talking about the C25K and how this enabled them to prepare for the event.
  • Thanks. I told my wife about being smoked by a man pushing a pram and she just laughed at me  Has this happend to anyone else?
  • I waited untill I had lost weight before I started to run. Since then I have 2 different injuries directly related to me running (adductor and mid-back muscle issue). I think you are going to potentially have issues even if you are at your target weight. You can lessen the risk if you cross train with low impact…
  • YAY!!!!! Cmoan the dugs! So pleased to hear this.
  • Sorry to hear this. This might be the inspiration to move onto the next and best phase of your life. Go out and excersise, stay off the chocolate and use the pain to motivate you to work out. You can make this happen. p.s. yesterday was my 200th day without chocolate and soda.
  • Official time of 28mins 05 secs. I was hoping for a sub 35min:drinker:
  • I have a treadmill and bike at home that I use for cardio. I will start to run outside soon though. Don't have weights but would like some at home as well.
  • FANTASTIC. I did the same 4 miles last week and upped it this week to over 6.2 (10k) today. I hope you can do it next weekend! I have found if I go a bit slower (5.2mph) than a normal run (5.8-6.2) then I can go for ages. I'll be watching out for your post next weekend! :drinker:
  • Sushi!!!!!!!
  • Well done! Sorry to hear about the creepy guy. I guess it's kind of a compliment though:blushing:
  • That was the plan. There is a parkrun event close by which is a 5k every weekend. I was going to go yesterday but it was too wet. I pushed the run today because I had the day off yesterday. Please don't say that about running outside. I want it to be easier. My treadmill does not have any incline feature but I have been…
  • I start with a 5 min walk. It get's my heart rate up and lets me warm the old legs up. I also do a 5 min cool-down. It seems to keep my heart rate up and I end up burning more calories. It means I ended up moving for over 80 mins and about 7 miles in total. I wish I could count the warm-up in my distance but my times would…
  • Slow seems to be the way!
  • I'm in the same boat. I would rather take the weight gain. I lost weight before through just diet and can do it again.
  • I'm training for an event in 2 months. I don't want to fail. I think I will book another event when this is done to keep me going.
  • Went for a shower. I felt these bumps on my legs. They were muscles. First time I can remember having any.
  • I'm in. My 10k is on the 2nd of September. I might even do a free 5k race tomorrow if it stops raining. (It's Scotland so we only have 2 types of weather. Raining and the short period of time between rain).
  • well done Keep going and you will be running a 5k before you know it :)
  • 4 weeks. 2 of them I was injured. All part of the learning experience.:grumble: I need to spend a good 5-10 mins warming up before I do my run. I now also have to ice up after to stop the damage. I think having a dog helps. I'm always on my feet with him.
  • I was in exactly the same position. For me a 30 min run was aout 2.5-2.8miles, Not exactly a 10k I am running a bit faster now but that is probably due to me doing interval training on the 10k program. There is some free podcasts on itunes. I love the 10k101 stuff and podrunner. I'm on week2 of my training now. I am now…
  • Interesting subject. I lost weight to get below 25 bmi. That was my "goal" I have never been as light as I am now. Now I'm just training and getting fitter. Numbers are funny. 1 minute it's a measure of how much you weigh then it's a time to run 5k or lift at the gym.
  • I don't think anyone suggesting you binge on 3000 cals a night is right! You and I are exactly the same height and I'm probably about at your goal weight right now but that's just a result of eating clean, giving up chocolate, alcohol and soda. If you want to keep going then do it and stay healthy.
  • Thanks for all the feedback. I'm clearly not alone. I'm not expecting praise from anyone. I'm making the changes to improve my health. That's my reward. I know the comment was not meant to be negative. It's just made me take another look at things. Is that how people now see me? I've been 20-25 lbs heavier for the last 20…
  • 1/7 = 4 3/3 = 3.6 Total 7.6
  • To raise money for charity. I have a 10k in September and hope to raise £200 for the SSPCA (an Animal charity in Scotland). The pain I suffer in training is for them
  • Have to agree. I also put some mats below it to create an incline. This also seems to reduce the impact on my legs.
