  • Well, I'm starting over. I gained everything back plus 10#. :( I'm walking and going to try a 30 day abs challenge. (Found an app)
  • To be more active and eat healthier. I want to do a 5k. My goal is to lose about 50 pounds, but, like you I will be happy to lose 20. Then we'll see from there. I do know that just in this short time since I started getting more active, that I feel waaaaay better. Here's to a FANTASTIC 2014.
  • Wow, this is tough; in our culture we do not look at ourselves like this (talk up ourselves). 1. I am proud of my Alaska Native heritage and actively participate in cultural activities. 2. I love my daughters and my grandchildren. 3. I strive to make life better for my community. 4. I speak up and ask questions. 5. I love…
  • Hi all, I'm 48, 5'7" and was 238 at my heaviest, I started tracking what I eat on an app called Noom, and lost 10#. Then my daughter found MFP. I joined in January and have lost 20# since joining, for a total of 30# since October. I love that I can plug in my own recipes and get a calorie count for my native foods. I have…

  • Great story and great progress. We have a squirrel up in our attic that is driving us nuts. He'll chatter at us when we get home and by the time we get the .22 he's gone. I know he's mocking us.
  • I was researching whether I should get a monitor or not and what kind when I came upone the following: The BMF and BodyBugg are identical (using same technology); but, the Bodybugg may have a better price http://www.livestrong.com/article/366271-bodymedia-vs-bodybugg/ And this site compares the BMF to the FitBit.…
  • WOW.... Great to see your transformation. I started at 238 and am working to 170. I'm nearly half way there. If I get there; I mean WHEN I get there I may adjust my goal. I'll see when that time comes. Congratulations! It's great to see that hard work pays off. :drinker:

  • There is an app for the iPhone or iPod that I was able to use for my calculations.
  • I've downloaded an app to my phone and my iPod called C25k. At the end of 8 weeks you should be able to run 5k. When I started this, I could barely do 1 minute with 90 seconds walking inbetween. I just started week 4 and was able to run 5 minutes without stopping. Totally amazed at this process. Good luck.
  • SW:218.4 CW:212.9 Thats -5.5 Not getting that 2# a week, but it is still moving.

  • SW:218.4 CW:214.0 Well, since I've lost 4.4 #, not quite what I wanted... but, it is progress. I've stepped up my cardio some, started the C25k, I'm on Wk2, d2. And... I've started the 30DS for the second time. I'm now on Level 1, d2. I just hope I can keep it up and get through it all.
  • Plateaus suck, but look at the difference in your photos. That is quite an accomplishment. You're near the half way mark... keep going!

  • I feel just like you do. My heaviest was 238.6 I'm down over 20#, 12 since I joined MFP. and my CW: 216.4. I've got about 50# more to go. I even had a big NSV this week. My clothes are getting loose, I nearly ran out of my pants when snow shoeing the other day. But, now, I just am blaaah. Somedays, I wake up raring to go,…
  • I went to try on dresses for my friends wedding that is coming up in June. I was asked what size pants I wear so that they can get sample dresses for me.Our consultant brought 4 and said that one was a smaller size and that she would hold the back closed for me when I tried it on so that I could see what that style would…
  • AMAZING transformation. That's right about where I started SW 238.6 and CW 216.4. I can see what your dedication has done for you. It makes me want to go and do more. Thanks for sharing.
  • I use Truvia... half a spoon, it's pretty sweet. Zero calories. And all natural. :D I like it waaaaay better than Splenda or NutraSweet.
  • FANTASTIC! That is quite an accomplishment. I just downloaded the app to my iPod so I can start it as soon as I get over being sore from the 30DS.

  • I agree with everyone else, you look FANTASTIC. I think we've been trained to look at the bad in ourselves. Don't worry about your behind or back fat... that will go away too. Just look at the AMAZING progress you've made and be glad in it. :D Thanks for sharing.
  • Congrats on your progress! I started at 238 and I'm now at 217 at 5'7", I feel like I'm losing my motivation already. You give me great hope. Thank you for sharing.
