  • Thanks for running the challenge, @GrandmaJackie. I need a ten-day kick in the pants to carry me to my planned diet break. Original Start Weight: 234 Challenge Start Weight: 206.4 Day/Weight/Comment 07/06 206.4 07/07 07/08 07/09 07/19 07/11 07/12 07/13 07/14 07/15
  • Day/Weight/Comment 12/04 221.4 pounds. Just got back from a wonderful vacation and my weight is up a bit. Looking forward to the next ten days of getting back on track. 12/05 214.4 pounds. Either that was a lot of water weight gain from my vacation or my sister's scale weighs differently than mine. Mine is new and recently…

  • @Birder165 Glad I could help. I chuckled to myself after I posted thinking that my username is Fitby44 and I'm actually 50 now. I would be fit if I hadn't originally told myself I'd be at a healthy weight by x date and just used this new strategy. Ah well. Before it was all or nothing thinking. I kept thinking, "At some…

  • Sorry about your grandpa. Awesome about staying out of the treats.
  • NSV is getting back to this thread after falling off the wagon. :) Posting on the NSV thread has become an NSV. Thanks to you all for the inspiration to get back at it. Also, I've just recently realized that when I am having an overwhelming craving (which happens only about once a month now, the day before I get my…

  • Congratulations! This is one of my goals for Labour Day, so thanks for the inspiration.
  • I could cycle up a hill I've never been able to manage before now. I love that I'm getting stronger.
  • Fantastic! I can't wait to get there. :)
  • I love this. Getting over our fears is one of the best things we can do for ourselves which reminds me of my recent NSV. I love cycling but hate pain and have always been afraid of wiping out. I've fallen off my bike twice before, but didn't get too hurt. A week ago I wiped out pretty bad. Luckily I had a helmet on, but I…
  • Hello all! Good for you on staying on track last night, Megan. Congrats on the great week, Brittany. I try to drink only water and tea unless it's my cheat meal and then I will allow myself a boozy drink once a week. Sorry to hear about the pre-diabetes, Giselle. I am actually following the Insulin Resistance Diet to avoid…
  • Congratulations! I fell off the wagon shortly after you started, so your story is extra inspirational for me. :)
  • Thanks for starting this group, Z! My eating was horrible on the weekend. I gave into the "birthday" excuse which is hilarious since I generally don't make a big deal about my birthday, but if it gave me a an excuse to overeat, I took it. Anyway, my overall goal is to land somewhere between 140 and 150 pounds.…
  • I'm 5'4" and looking to lose about 60 more pounds. I've lost 15 since the end of May.
  • Woohooo! Happy Birthday to me! I'm down another inch and a half in the waist, and can button the "test pants" for my personal challenge. I couldn't get those pants over my hips in June and I'm hoping to wear them on Labour Day. On my way there!
  • ha ha Screw the scale! And good for you.
  • That's awesome. I was glad that I could ride the rollercoasters with my son because the year before last, I was too big. I can cycle faster and farther than even a few months ago. So happy about that. Can pull down my size 16 pants without undoing them. I am able to not want to eat the snacks I bought for my teenage son…
  • For the first time, I cycled the 50 hilly kilometers from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to the campground where I spend the summer. My friends thought I was nuts and wanted to rescue me, but I lived. Also, I got really excited to find a big bag of fresh spinach in the local store. I never used to get excited about…
  • Got so busy at work today that I couldn't go out for a colleague's good bye lunch and had nothing to eat. I avoided the vending machine of death and local pizzeria, and waited until I got home to eat a late lunch. There have been times when I thought I might die if I didn't eat every 3 hours. Not anymore.
  • Congratulations!!!!
  • Hooray! Good for you!!!
  • Walking past the sweets several times is awesome! I did that yesterday too with donuts. I love donuts. LOVE. And despite two stressful days at work, I didn't eat my feelings but cycled really hard instead. I'm 46 and just blew by the younger people on the cycling path.
  • Congratulations! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.
  • Excellent! When my co-workers are amazed at how far I can cycle, I tell them that getting the strength and stamina doesn't really take long to build. I should show them your post, so that they can see it's not just me. My NSV is a small one but is really mentally huge for me. For the first time in my life, I am drinking my…
