Yesss, yesss... shoot the messenger, ignore the message. Par for you guys. Yadda yadda dark side. Now, as requested, "Please discuss."

That's a great article, thanks. I wonder when it was published - it doesn't talk about the different sizes of LDL particles, for example. What frustrates me, though (and your reply falls into this category, alas) is the misinterpretation that "fats aren't bad for you as previously thought" means "eat all you want!" Who…

Well, it points at a book that contains the MEAT (hurr hurr) of the info. This guy's website has a bunch of stuff too. The short version is that cholesterol doesn't appear to be the demon it was once thought to be. Or, at least, not ALL cholesterol types. Anyway, go read up. And good luck with your liver :-/

Magnesium also. I get "Maine Coast Sea Vegetables" kelp and eat the dried strips, too. Chicken or beef broth with half-and-half (or, better, heavy whipping cream) mixed in is tasty. But yeah, mostly water.

As little as I could get away with. Generally less than 20g per day.

I went sugar-free in 2014. And 2013. I'll just have to suffer with my 50-lb loss and my increase in medical stat quality. Good luck to the rest of you.

I don' git it.

I love the stuff. I add heavy whipping cream too, for good measure :) I got a "Produkt" milk frother for three bucks from ikea, and use it to mix it up, instead of dirtying the blender.

More recent studies say that fats are good for you, anyway. Google it.

This presumes he's gotten permission to make a man cave. ,,, thinking NOT.

Is that like Scotch Eggs, only different nationality and species?
-
Wow, no need to be obnoxious about it.
-
Jibbers - someone actually SAID that? I can't even imagine how disgusting that'd be.
-
*Dagobah Also, that's very sad :( I think I would be in a similar situation. Props to you for having the canardlies to even suggest such a thing!

Maybe we need this on a scrolling banner at the top of the site. At least on the forums?

I take calcium carbonate as a supplement - presumably, then, the carbonate in that would do the same thing, without adding sodium to my diet.
-
ZOMG whew. I saw this topic and came in to be all indignant, but you're already on the same page :)
-
IMO that's because you're not giving your body the stuff it needs to run best, instead hooking it on things that cause cravings. To paraphrase Yoda, "Cravings lead to suffering. Suffering leads to bingeing. Bingeing leads to fat!"

Only one for the whole YEAR? You've got more control than I do.
-
But... but... but... That's what I already do! I just only happen to WANT things that are starch- and sugar-free. WHAT'S WRONG WITH MEEEEEEEEEE???????????

OR EATING BEE VOMIT!
-
I don't know why you'd even bring up honey in this post. It's not like bee vomit has any place in modern society. OH WAIT I seem to be responding to something that's NOT the point you made. Just following your lead, there.

Trader joes sells an organic stevia powder that's JUST STEVIA. Like, if you use a tenth of a tablespoon you're overdoing it. No binders at all. That's what I tend to use in my coffee.

I bought a length of sugar cane from a local grocer, peeled it a bit and gnawed on the end for a while before just pitching it. It amazes me that someone, sometime, found a field of that stuff, likely did the same thing I did, but decided "HEYYYYYY - sure it tastes like dirty grass NOW, but let's shred it, boil it down and…

Holy smoke. I just realized there were like 160 new replies to this or something ridiculous. WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST HUG AND GET ALONG??? (Preferably over bulletproof coffee and a rasher of bacon...)

There was another report recently from the NIH which has supported a correlative thing. This time, though, it's tied to excessive use of pesticides, on wheat in particular, which are used to trigger the wheat's "Oh god I'm dying, better go to seed!" response and increase crop yields. So the hypotenuse there is that, if you…

Yeahbut - "fiber doesn't count." I'm a HUGE fan of kale, kelp, spinach, zucchini, peapods, cukes, artichokes - basically anything that grows aboveground, and in moderation :)

This is a thick thread to read. I just wanted to toss in my $0.02 - I did a fat fast to break a stall and after two weeks had no change at all. I ended up having to drop my BMR calories by 200 in MFP, I guess I'd just gotten too small and it was time to recalculate. Not a bad problem to have, overall, but not what I was…
