  • my old coach told me that if you are sore, do the same workout for three straight days, and the next time you do the workout, you wont feel a thing! he made us do 200 crunches at practice, and by the third day i could barely do 5. BUT the next few days?? NO PAIN! i wasnt sore from crunches ever again! amazing
  • i asked a personal trainer at my gym this question and she said as long as you net at least 1200 (or whatever your minimum calorie intake is for the day) you should be okay. you never want to burn more than you eat (ie. have a negative net), its unhealthy and tricks your body into thinking your starving.
  • "Don't reward yourself with food. You are not a dog." makes me laugh every time, and helps me to remember that just because i got a great work out it, does not mean i have permission to eat a tub of ice cream.
  • the more you do them, the easier they will be. so try to add 5-10 seconds every time, but always push yourself those last couple seconds!
  • if you eat less than your body needs, you wont be losing the weight that you want (aka from fat tissue), and it becomes an unhealthy diet. HOWEVER, if you arent hungry, dont eat more, but try to substitute the food you do eat with higher calorie, healthy foods (nuts and things)
  • need to get rid of the mentality of "if i drink it, it doesnt count as calories" and "if its a clear liquid, it must be 0 calories" this was SUPER helpful
  • i am in the same situation =] my close friends on here rarely log in, but it would be nice to have some friends that use it more often. friend request sent!
  • I saw on Pinterest someone posted a picture of their iPhone alarm, set for early morning, that said "If Forrest Gump can run for over 3 years, you can get your *kitten* up for a 30 minute run this morning"
  • i thought it was hard too! but water is so important to your body, so you should try to make it a priority. to help me, i bought a large 32 oz water bottle that helped me keep track of the exact amount of water i was drinking per day. i made it my goal to have at least two full water bottles a day (8oz = 1cup, 64 oz = 8…
  • bikram yoga in the morning, kickboxing later in the day. perfect mix of strength training and cardio =]
  • watch out for those salads! they look healthy but they are actually close to 1000 calories..ask for dressing on the side!
  • one of the blogs I read says that when you PMS, you crave chocolate, but what your really need is zinc to curb the craving. so red meat, seafood, leafy veggies or root veggies will work.
  • i read somewhere that it takes 4 weeks for you to notice, 8 weeks for people close to you to notice (family, friends), and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. i say, keep making em notice you! =]
  • iphone and macbook =] person below me has been to europe
  • you cant give up that quick!! its easy to chose to lose weight and eat healthy, the tough part is the obstacle course ahead of weight fluctuation, food cravings, sore muscles from exercise, etc.. every setback is an opportunity to do more, to push yourself harder, to not give up on your choice. allow your body to catch up…

  • I was in your position last year. broken ankle, out of commission for about 8 weeks, which really killed my exercise routine. I didnt gain too much weight, but I lost a lot of muscle mass, and it was super difficult to get back in shape. i spent a lot of time walking, and even though it hurt for awhile, i began to notice i…

  • if its snack time and the option is either a banana or a slice of pizza, stick with the banana. im sure you could find something unhealthy or wrong about every food. healthy eating is all about variety and portion control.
  • ALL THE TIME. i find myself guessing how many calories i think something is and then looking it up... its all good info to know though!
  • insecure people are the first to criticize. its amazing the accomplishment you have achieved and you shouldnt let her break your spirit. dont confront her, but keep flaunting those skinny pics. at the end of the day, you are losing weight and she is losing your respect.
  • Planet Fitness has a "lunk alarm" that the employees ring every time someone grunts loudly or drops weights. sounds like this guy needed one..
  • in my opinion, running IS boring. its repetitive and time consuming. to me it doesnt matter where I run, as long as I have some great music to keep me going. A great running playlist will keep your mind distracted, and may even help balance your stride when you arent on a treadmill going at a constant pace. this link has…
  • try to incorporate more veggies and less carbs into your diet. also, do you weigh yourself consistently at the same time every day? that will give you a better estimate of your loss and gain. I would suggest the morning, before you gain all that water weight. but congrats on working out every day!
  • chocolate brownies do seem to smell a lot better when your aunt visits, dont they?? =] however, fight the urge to eat them! don't give yourself an excuse to binge, because the guilt will only make you feel worse. maybe take baby steps towards eliminating the junk food during that time, allow yourself only ONE meal or ONE…
  • if im craving sweet, ill pour myself a glass of silk soy milk (chocolate almond is my favorite) the perfect guiltless craving quencher =] also, try to avoid watching the food network, top chef, (any cooking show), that gets me EVERYTIME..
  • sprinkle them over green beans, zucchini, or other baked veggies. it adds some extra crunch and flavor to your side dish.
