Remember to run YOUR pace. It is so easy to get swept up in the excitement and start out faster then you would if you were just on a training run, or trying to keep up with others out on the course. Know yourself and stick to what has worked for you during your training. Also, have FUN, RnR events have lots of bands along…

I used to wonder why girls would put on shirts that were form fitting to work out in when they didn't always look that great and then I started running and discovered that closer to the body meant less chance of chafing. Now I make sure that everything I work out in is tech material and figure that I'm running or at the…

Trader Joes Double Roasted Salsa. I love to marinate chicken in it to put on the grill. It is one of my kids favs.

I have never been one to eat fast food but I am going to stick this up in my cube at work so when the 2 coworkers that come to my desk to complain that they can't lose weight see it. Um, yeah, if you eat out EVERY day, sometimes twice AND make completely wrong choices don't complain to me.

You are doing great, keep up the good work!

I don't eat totally clean, but mostly and have never been a fast food person. Last Friday I caved and had lunch with some office peeps, 3/4 of a Pizza Hut personal pan cheese pizza and 2 pieces of garlic bread with cheese. I was so sick the rest of the day and my migraine still hasn't gone away. I guess you can't jump into…

I guess I was lucky, I had posted on FB that I was going to try a different site and several people said no, try this one. I gave the other a try for almost 2 weeks but found MFP much easier to use. My running (and healthy) friends get it, but 2 of my coworkers asked so I showed them the site, how easy it is to just scan…

Well, it was last night. I was 3.5 miles into my run and my stomach started feeling funny - as can sometimes happen when you run - at 3.7 I decided this isn't right, swooped up my stuff (not even sticking around to wipe the machine down which is a pet peeve of mine) and walked as quickly as I could to the ladies room. Sat…

First, Daisy2jae congrats on going Goofy! I missed it this year but am looking forward to Princess next month and Goofy 2013. Is your 10k in October the MC by chance? Now as far as how many, it really depends on your training and recovery ability. Back to back I have done a 5k on Friday, 1/2 Marathon on Saturday and Full…

I purchased medal racks from allied for my husband and I to hang our medals, its fun to have them personalized. We save all our bibs and they are hanging on a giant clip (one for each of us) in my scraproom. For those thinking about donating to M4M, it is an awesome organization and many folks from my running group have…

I have belonged to a gym forever but hated the location closest to my home. Moved in the fall and they didn't have a location near me, fast forward and my gym was bought by the company near me and it is great. Plenty of room and I don't feel like we have 'leeches' there like the old place. I have been consistent about…

C25K is an awesome way to get started. Just remember to listen to your body and if you feel like you need to 'stall' at a certain point to let your body 'catch up' then certainly do that. I wish I had found C25K when I started running, I just did it blindly but now run half and full marathons - even weighing as much as I…
