This is me now after I stopped working out and eating right since March. I have been in carb craving overload. I think mine is due to changes at my age. Anyway, I agree that having it around is making it harder so I am going to do as others suggest and get it out of the house. I will say that when I ate more protein at all…

Your food intake and workouts are very similar to mine! Good luck!

This is my first time joining a challenge group. I love that you made one for LOTR. I've signed up under Elves. How do I find the link once it gets started so that I do not miss anything? Thank you.

Great post!! I did a running program with a trainer at our gym last year and enjoyed it. I never could figure how to the do the C25k so I think I'll try again. I love how you worded this also. Very informative and entertaining as well. Good job on your accomplishments.

Oh, I forgot, I track: Calories, Protein, Carbs, Fat, Fiber and Sugar. I'm trying to make sure I get the recommended daily fiber and also trying to cut down on refined sugar and of course you always want to track the other three.

I'm doing the same thing, using my own measuring cups and scale. You can find all the measurements and lots of meal ideas on Pinterest. I do my workouts at the local gym but I need help with portion control and I love the ideas I'm finding online. I still track on MFP. By the way, Target has store brand baggies that are…

Great job!! I'm 52 and 5'7" at 170. Still trying for 160. My body seems to like 165 as the lowest right now. don't stress your vacation calories too much. Oh and thanks for posting your age. I think it makes a huge difference being 5'7" at age 30 then at age 52, so I always like to factor age in as well when I read peoples…

Sounds similar to me and I never thought to view it more like Tried30User said. I will have to work on self-discipline myself. As for katkins3, I agree there too. I have been eating poorly and unfortunately for me the sleep issues are happening now do to my age. I think they may have both hit the nail on the head. I don't…

Don't be embarrassed. I just started running to train for a 5k and I looked terrible but didn't care. I ran my first 5K and I'm sure that I looked funny there also but I was so busy worrying about finishing that I didn't notice if anybody was looking and I'm 52. Just do it for yourself and tune them out. If it helps, alot…

This also. Many people I work out with do the food prep over the weekend too.

This. I have the same opinion and I work full-time outside the house the same as my husband and have two older teen boys at home. Luckily though I can get away with not alot of frying since for years I always baked things and now that it's warm weather I grill alot. Glad to see I'm not the only one without the "if you…

I'm still working on this but asked my trainer this same question about a a month ago. She said food prep is a big help. She preps food on Sunday's (chicken, rice, vegetables, etc.) that way no matter what the menu she will always have her food. Say everyone has chicken one night as the main meat, you can eat your quinoa…

This may or may not be an option for you but when I started back at the gym after many years, I hired one of the trainers and he worked with me in the weight room. We met once a week for an hour and I did this for quite some time (because I enjoyed it). I learned about the equipment and a good routine that I could follow…

I agree with you on this also! I do more weights than typical cardio anyway but I'm not cut out for Zumba for sure. Really enjoy Spinn class at my gym though.
-
I really like Spinn class right now. At my gym they turn the lights down and you spinn in the dark. That and the music makes for a fun time. With the weather turning I might try my hand at biking outside since I haven't done that since I was a kid.
-
Spinn class will rid me of my concerns today. The one cardio class I take because you can lose yourself in there and pedal away your frustrations. Like some said, just use it to fuel my workouts and get back on task with my eating. Still doing it for myself, not proving anything to her. Thank goodness my side of the family…

I can agree with this since when it comes to me I can fight my own battles. Been around this woman too long not to speak my mind but I still keep it respectful. Sometimes I just don't speak it like I should I guess. I would only pull my husband in on things concerning others in the family. I can hold my own when it's about…

Yes and I think you are right there also. As I get in better shape I should dress to show it. Thanks
-
This for sure. I am not good put on the spot and after she didn't seem to like the few answers I had, I wish I had said these.
-
Thanks everyone. Great advice and lots of laughs. Yes I am older (I feel and probably act younger than I should ;)), but I still agree with respecting my elders and she is of course my mother-in-law. Discussions with her usually turn into debates that keep me on my toes but I got frustrated yesterday where some of…

Great job!!! The next 6 months will be gone before you know it.

-
I think this is definitely doable for me to pre-log breakfast, lunch and any snacks and leave dinner open.
-
You can order the BLT w/o cheese but I did leave it on yesterday. At home I would never think of putting it on my BLT's either. They also told me that I could switch the lettuce for spinach leaves but just need to tell them after I put my order in.

I haven't had one there in a long while and it was delicious! I tried Rutters once and arghh. Their food is terrible.
-
Mmmmm. Texas Roadhouse. Love their salmon.
-
I guess it's not that bad but I didn't post that I also had an iced coffee with that at 150 calories so my breakfast was too high. I've finally finished the carton of coffee so I won't be buying that again. Wawa is actually a gas station in Maryland that has a pretty good food counter. It's always busy.
-
I'm not that organized yet, lol
-
I do not eat them back but I do log exercise in MFP to keep track of my workouts. I just change the calorie count to "1". For me I don't want to feel I earned eating more because I worked out since it's hard sometimes to really know just how much you burned (unless you use a HRM and figure it out). I'd rather just know…

IMO focusing on lowering body fat is excellent but, at least when you are not close to goal, the scale is the easiest way to see progress. I'll also recommend taking measurements. I track the following measurements: waist at narrowest point, circumference around navel, hips, neck, forearm, wrist, upper thigh, and calf. I'm…
